The 2015 grape harvest is finished and the fruit is in the winery. Overall, we had an excellent harvest. Despite the wet spring, dry conditions in late summer helped produce very good quality fruit. While yields were down a bit, especially on varieties being retrained from 2014, most growers were happy with the crop and wine makers should be very happy with the 2015 vintage.
We'll be discussing this year's crop, tasting some of our research wines and discussing many other topics at the
Indiana Horticultural Congress, Jan. 19-21, 2016 in Indianapolis. We have a great program planned so watch for details in upcoming newsletters.
The Fall meeting of the Indiana Wine Grape Council will be held November 12 at
Two-EEs Winery in Roanoke. Council meetings are open to all wineries. If you cannot attend but have comments you would like to share with the Council, please contact the
Purdue Wine Grape Team or one of the Council members.
