PROGRAM FOCUS

The Wisconsin WIC Farmers Market Nutrition Program (WIC FMNP) Starts Soon!

Farmers Markets can be fun for you and your family. The WIC FMNP provides food benefits to WIC participants that can be redeemed at Farmers Markets from June through October and offers an opportunity to purchase locally grown fruits, vegetables, and herbs. In addition to food benefits, families receive education and tips on how to prepare fresh produce. Most WIC participants can receive up to $40 of Farmers Market food benefits.

Learn more by visiting our website or emailing us at wic@winnebagocountywi.gov.

Here are a few tips to prepare for and enjoy your Farmers Market trip:

  • Go early for the best choice of foods.
  • Walk around the market to find what you like.
  • Talk to the farmers. They can answer questions about the foods they grow and how to cook them.
