Thanksgiving Is Here, And On Giving Tuesday Next Week, We Will Celebrate Clean Water All Around The World
We wish all of you a Happy Thanksgiving this week.

We are so grateful that the Water With Blessings Community for Mission works every day to provide clean water for God’s thirsty children. But there are a couple of days each year we ask for a little extra help.

Giving Tuesday is one of those days. A week from this Tuesday, November 30, we will be making an all-out push to spread the word to friends old and new about how to help grow this Community.

We will host a special podcast/video chat to talk about our recent successes and exciting new initiatives like the one in the Navajo Nation. Please help us now by forwarding this email to someone you think would like to join us in this life-transforming work.
At Navajo Technical University, instructors and students were trained in the use of the Sawyer PointONE filters.
Fr. John Grace traveled to the Navajo Nation to add his labor to the great investment his parish has made in clean water for people in need.
Building New Partnerships In the Navajo Nation

Sister Larraine Lauter has returned from her trip to the Navajo Nation, where Water With Blessings now has a coordinator and several new trainers serving new communities across the Nation.

As the Coronavirus Pandemic begins to ease somewhat (although the Navajo Nation is still in one of the hardest-hit areas) Sr. Larraine was able to travel more freely to meet individually with the new trainers.

One of the major concerns in the Navajo Nation is cancer, especially a type of stomach cancer which is caused by a stomach parasite. The great news is that this parasite is removable by the Water With Blessings/Sawyer PointONE Filter.

Fr. John Grace, the pastor of Immaculate Conception Parish in Hampton, Virginia, traveled to the Navajo Nation to join Sr. Larraine as she made her way across the nation. His parish has provided major funding for this project. And Fr. John worked hard during the week, drilling holes in buckets and providing other assistance to those taking part in the training.

Water With Blessings has also established a partnership with Navajo Technical University, in Crownpoint, New Mexico. There we will be working with the Department of Earth Sciences on water treatment. The is turning into a major project since the students, led by Professor Roy Chowdhury, are already working to remove heavy metals from the water in the area.

That process makes the water safe for animal consumption. Now, using the Water With Blessings/Sawyer PointONE Filter, it takes it to the next level – human consumption.

The students and Professor Chowdhury, as well as NTU President Elmer Guy, are very excited about these new developments. Dr. Guy has invited us to return and work on all five of NTU’s campuses, using the space for recruiting and teaching new trainers. 19 of the students, and Dr. Guy, took filters home to use for their families and neighbors.
Angela, one of our new trainers in the Navajo Nation, and her daughter were able to begin filtering their water.
It’s always a good day to be generous, but once a year the whole country focuses on philanthropy. This year Giving Tuesday falls on November 30, the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.

This year, Water With Blessings will host a special Coffee Chat as part of our activities that day. We invite everyone to join us at Noon on the 30th. Sr. Larraine will share video, pictures, and stories from her recent trip to the Navajo Nation. Also, we are wrapping up the capital campaign for our new office/warehouse and will provide an update on that.

The chat also gives us a chance to thank you face-to-face (virtually, anyway) for your generous support throughout 2021. It’s been an extraordinary year for the Water With Blessings Community for Mission, one in which our disaster response has helped thousands of people drink clean water in the aftermath of catastrophic events.

And since it is Giving Tuesday, we will have some helpful tips on end-of-year giving and other ways to help provide clean water to God’s thirsty children.

For many people, there are ways to give beyond just writing a check. If you have appreciated stocks or securities, there are tax-saving methods to make your money go further and help yourself at the same time. If you would like more information, please contact Rebecca Stutsman, our Chief Development Officer, at rebecca@waterwithblessings.org, or call the office: 502-749-5492.

We’re looking forward to 2022 and expanding our outreach to those in need. So please plan to join us. We can only do it with your help.
