CDPHE QUICK COVID-19 VACCINE PROVIDER GUIDE

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) released a quick reference guide for healthcare professionals including information on the proper storage, preparation, and administration of the currently authorized COVID-19 vaccine products in the United States.
WHITE HOUSE INFORMATION ON COVID-19 AND PEOPLE WITH DISABILITIES
 
The White House released a Fact Sheet on Feb. 24, 2022, with new actions to address COVID-19 needs of people with disabilities and older people. They also released outlined steps to ensure people with disabilities and older individuals have access to COVID-19 testing, masks and other resources.

The Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) shared new and updated communication resources that may be useful.

COLORADO COVID-19 HEALTH CARE PROVIDER VACCINE INFORMATION TOOLKIT

In an effort to best organize and make readily available the wide array of health care provider vaccine resources, trainings and materials related to the COVID-19 vaccination program, Colorado Department of Public Health and Environment (CDPHE) has created the online Colorado COVID-19 Health Care Provider Vaccine Information Toolkit. The toolkit has a variety of robust elements. PROVIDER DIRECTORY CONTACT REMINDER

Please make sure that your provider directory is updated with your contact information, specialty, cultural competency, ADA compliance, and all other categories.
NEW MEMBER REDETERMINATION PROCESS

In March 2022, a new redetermination process for all Health First Colorado (Colorado’s Medicaid Program) and Child Health Plan Plus (CHP+) members was implemented.  For more information, see the Renewal Revamp presentation, workbook and FAQ on HCPF's Eligibility Partner Trainings webpage or view the Renewal Guidance for Medical Assistance Memo. 
STRESS AWARENESS MONTH RESOURCES

April is stress awareness month. Please utilize these resources specific to provider stress and specifically, provider stress during the Public Health Emergency.
ALCOHOL AWARENESS MONTH

April is also alcohol awareness month. Pamphlets and resources from the National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism are available for providers to utilize and distribute. These pamphlets include resources and facts about harmful interactions: mixing alcohol with medicines, rethink drinking alcohol and your health, alcohol and your pregnancy, and much more.
COLORADO HEALTH INSTITUTE (CHI) HEALTH AGENDA

CHI has released their 2022 agenda for addressing health care in Colorado. They have included three focuses:
  • Integrating systems of care
  • Behavioral health
  • Climate change

I MATTER--PROVIDING FREE MENTAL HEALTH SUPPORT FOR COLORADO YOUTH

Colorado House Bill 21-1258 established this temporary program to provide access to mental health and substance use disorder services for youth, including addressing needs that may have resulted from the COVID-19 pandemic. In June 2021, Governor Jared Polis signed the bipartisan legislation, which dedicated $9 million to the program as part of the Polis-Primavera administration’s Colorado Comeback roadmap. I Matter is funded and administered by the Office of Behavioral Health (OBH). The program is funded until June 30, 2022. For more information and to help raise awareness, visit this link.

As a reminder, you can access both the primary care provider and behavioral health Provider Handbooks on Northeast Health Partners' website under the Provider Handbooks & Policies section. Please utilize these resources to answer questions in regards to member services, provider information, key performance indicators, etc.
CARE COORDINATION AND BEHAVIORAL HEALTH PROVIDERS FACT SHEET

Northeast Health Partners believes that care coordination must address members’ medical, behavioral and social needs in an integrated fashion and must address the full continuum of acute, chronic, long-term services and supports, and preventive health needs. NHP care coordinators ensure members are connected to all aspects of care needed, please see the Care Coordination and Behavioral Health Providers Fact Sheet to learn more.
UPCOMING EVENTS AND WEBINARS
END OF PUBLIC HEALTH EMERGENCY WEBINAR

The following webinar related to the end of the PHE has been scheduled. Please share with your networks as appropriate and register to attend. This webinar is geared towards Community Partners. The content includes current plans for how eligibility renewals will be phased over the 14 month period after the end of the public health emergency and an overview of communication resources in development for partners as we prepare for renewals or transitions in coverage for members.
IMPROVING MENTAL HEALTH OUTCOMES FOR TRANSGENDER AND GENDER DIVERSE (TSG) YOUTH THROUGH GENDER AFFIRMING CARE WEBINAR

This webinar is designed to help health centers understand the importance of access to gender affirming care for transgender and gender diverse (TGD) youth. If providers would not like to register for webinar, they can also download the slides for free.
SUICIDE PREVENTION IN INDIGENOUS COMMUNITIES WEBINAR

The Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine will be hosting a FREE workshop on strength and protective factors found in Indigenous populations to combat suicide.

SUICIDE PREVENTION CAMS TRAINING

The Office of Suicide Prevention will be hosting additional free, virtual CAMS trainings for Colorado providers on Tuesday April 26, 2022 and Thursday May 19th, 2022. Both trainings will be in 8-hour, single-day, online format..
