Kathy Halbardier is a rural business advisor and a wealth of knowledge to help start your small business in Douglas County. Kathy has more than 25 years of experience in small-business development as a highly successful entrepreneur as well as a sought-after advisor and trainer by those in all stages of business ownership. Her areas of expertise include business plan counseling, marketing, strategic planning, economic development, and business education and training.
With more than 10 years experience in banking and other types of financial institutions, Kathy has assisted businesses in financial planning and access to capital through alternative lending sources. Kathy serves as a part-time business advisor and trainer for the Nevada SBDC primarily in Douglas County, Carson City, and surrounding areas. The Douglas County Small Business Development Center, in conjunction with the Carson Valley Chamber of Commerce, strives to make Douglas County a better place to live, work and do business. The Center's main objective is the strengthening of the overall economy by promoting business development, which expands employment opportunities. The Center assists existing and new business enterprises by offering the following business advising services:
