On June 13 The New York Times published an article titled: Montana has More Cows Than People. Why Are Locals Eating Beef From Brazil?

The writer interviewed Cole Mannix from Old Salt Co-op about the issues facing Montana ranchers and what he is trying to do to fix the problems. Old Salt Co-op member ranchers raise, slaughter, process, and sell their meat locally, controlling ever aspect of their business and profiting along the way. This isn't easy and takes a lot of time, money, and tenacity, but Mannix and his team are making it work.

Business Leaders Series

This training series aims to support business owners and leaders in Southwest Montana, particularly owners and leaders of companies that are operating, looking at the potential growth strategies, employee retention plans, strategic planning, and how to overcome challenges affecting businesses in our region. The series will cover essential business topics, provide access to subject matter experts, and foster collaboration and communication among emerging companies. Lunch will be provided.
