In partnership with the Maine Mathematics and Science Alliance, we are proud to announce the following pathways for the 2023 CS Summer of Fun! Spend the week with us and learn how to integrate computer science into your K-12 classrooms. Join us for the whole week or pick and choose days (K-8 only) as they fit your needs!

K-8 Computer Science Integration Monday-Thursday:

On-Campus Overnight OR Commuter Pay Per Day Model

  • Monday: Code.org Computer Science Fundamentals
  • Tuesday: CS Sandbox- tools of physical computing
  • Wednesday: SCRATCH
  • Thursday: Integration Day

Middle School Level:

Teachers who apply and are accepted to the program commit to the following:


  • Attend a five-day, in-person summer workshop in Maine at UNE July 24th-28th, 2023
  • Attend four quarterly workshops throughout the academic year (in-person and virtually) between October and April.
  • Teach the course during the 2023-24 school year
  • Support the recruitment and enrollment of a diverse group of students in the course, representative of the school's overall student population

Maine is selected as one of 7 new states in the ECEP Alliance and our Project>Login Director, Angela Oechslie, is on the state team!

Maine joins 28 other states and Puerto Rico in the Expanding Computing Education Pathways Alliance. With the support from the U.S. National Science Foundation (NSF) and Google.org, the ECEP Alliance will work with these new states to improve equitable capacity for, access to, participation in, and experiences of quality computing education. Click here to learn more!

  • $150 lodging fee (Monday night lodging in a local hotel)

PK–12 STEM-discipline teachers:

  • If your school or district has agreed to pay for this professional learning opportunity, you can select “Invoice (Enter School or District Billing Info)” at checkout.
  • Participating Maine STEM-discipline teachers will receive a stipend of $288 and 11.5 contact hours.

We are excited to launch a new series of online workshops to prepare Haystack students, faculty, and TAs for utilizing the Fab Lab during their time at Haystack. These workshops are intended to help build the skills necessary to take advantage of all the digital fabrication resources.


All workshops are going to be facilitated via Zoom meetings, where participants can ask real-time questions, follow along, and interact with a live instructor.

Educate Maine is the Community Partner for Girls Who Code in Maine, and we provide additional resources to schools, libraries, and organizations looking to start a Girls Who Code Club.


P>L is looking for local "Women-in-Tech" spotlight speakers, project mentors, and co-facilitators. There are opportunities locally and nationally as well.

In April 2022, the Maine Legislature enacted and the Governor signed into law a bill to establish the Maine Space Corporation, a quasi-state body to manage the growth and the development of the Maine Space Complex to engage Maine in the growing global new space economy.


The conference session themes will include the future of space, the Maine space complex, and Maine's aerospace industry.
