West Goforth Road Reconstruction Open House

The City of Buda is hosting an open house for the West Goforth Road Reconstruction project. Learn more online or join us in-person to visit with the project team!

Buda's Birthday Celebration

The Buda Bonds team enjoyed speaking with the community and sharing more information about the bond program at Buda's Birthday Celebration on April 6. We look forward to seeing you at the next event!

Project Updates and Milestones

A New Sidewalk Improvement Project Is Underway!

To improve pedestrian mobility, a new sidewalk improvement project is underway to address the sidewalk gap along RM967, west of FM 1626 to Buda Sportsplex Drive. The goal of this project is to make it safer for people to walk between Dahlstrom Middle School, Buda Sportsplex, businesses and neighborhoods by addressing the gap in the existing sidewalk.

City Park Parking Lot

Check out the team's progress on the City Park Parking Lot project below!

The contractor, Harris Road Company, has added a concrete curb to the City Park Parking lots. Asphalt and parking lot stripping occurred in April ahead of Buda's Birthday events. The City Park Parking lot project is expected to be completed in May 2024.

Main Street East Extension

WSB has been designing an interim solution for the Main Street East Extension project to alleviate congestion and traffic back-ups at IH-35 on Main Street. The preliminary design for the interim solution was reviewed and approved by City Council on Nov. 28, 2024. It is in final design and likely will go out for bid this summer.

FM 2770/China Street/Main Street Pedestrian Crossing

Halff and Associates, Inc. was selected by City Council as the design consultant for the FM2770/China St./Main St. Pedestrian Crossing project in April 16, 2024. 

RM967 Deceleration Lanes

The geotechnical consultant, Terracon, marked 2 boring locations on the road with orange spray paint on May 8, 2024. This process includes drilling a hole to better understand the ground conditions before construction.
