A Climate and Health Learning Community Event
Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 1-2 pm ET
Date and Time
Wednesday, June 19, 2019 from 1-2 pm ET
(Event begins at 12 pm CT, 11 pm MT, 10 pm PT, and 9 am AK time)

Founded in 1937, the National Environmental Health Association (NEHA) works to advance the environmental health and protection professional for the purpose of providing a healthful environment for all. NEHA provides training and resources for continuing education through online courses and an online bookstore; holds an annual conference; fosters networking and career growth; and publishes the widely-respected peer-reviewed Journal of Environmental Health. This webinar will highlight membership benefits provided by NEHA, provide a look into NEHA’s Climate + Health projects, and feature program and partnership opportunities in the work NEHA does around children’s environmental health, vector control, private water, and built environment. Learn about opportunities for collaboration and enhance your environmental health toolkit. Tribes will learn about education opportunities and credentials offered by NEHA, including the Registered Sanitarian and Registered Environmental Health Specialist credentials. NEHA is expanding committees as well, and will be posting openings for the climate + health committee near the end of this year. NIHB is delighted to partner more closely with NEHA and both organizations hope that this webinar will help Tribes access resources, share input, and work more closely with NEHA.

NIHB is pleased to welcome the following individuals as presenters:

  • Natalie Brown, Project Coordinator, NEHA
  • Christine Ortiz-Gumina, Project Coordinator, NEHA
  • Ayana Jones, Project Coordinator, NEHA
  • Reem Tariq, Project Coordinator, NEHA
  • Sharon Unkart, PhD, Instructional Designer, NEHA
  • Natasha DeJarnett, PhD, Research Coordinator, NEHA

Please come prepared to ask questions or share your perspectives! The learning community is focused on knowledge and resource exchange and members are encouraged to share information and build relationships with each other and the presenters.

This webinar is hosted as part of the Climate and Health Learning Community and is open to the public. Anyone is also invited to join the learning community to receive information about future events. Signing up for the webinar will add you automatically to the learning community listserv. The learning community is part of the Climate Ready Tribes initiative, funded by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention. Each person who attends at least two learning community events will earn a professional development certificate.

This webinar is open to any interested person, but is likely most relevant for anyone who wants to learn more about NEHA and how their resources and opportunities might benefit Tribes.
