Hello clients and friends!

For those of you who follow us on Facebook, you have had a preview of what I'm going to write about today: Norwegian's new ship, the Bliss!

Three of us from the office were able to attend the Christening here in Seattle on May 30, and then spend three days on board, exploring all she has to offer.
Oh my, where to start? First, I was really impressed with how welcoming and elegant all of the public spaces were. Everywhere we went there were great places to gather with a small--or medium--group of friends, and we also found many cozy places for couples to cuddle...like the oversized chaises in the Observation Lounge, pictured below.
<== Near every stair and elevator bay, you'll find interactive screens that will help you navigate around the ship. You can also book your show reservations and activities like laser tag and go carts!
We did not get to spend much time on deck (it was too cool), but we did enjoy the hot tubs--there are 11 of them--and try out the waterslides, fun!
Of course we also tried out the go-carts and the laser tag. The go carts are electric and are very manoeverable and fun to drive. The laser tag was a hoot...even though our team got beat by a bunch of Canadian women carrying handbags! Too funny.
There is a lot to do for the younger set as well; Deck 5 boasts the Guppies toddler care, Splash Academy (below) kids club, Entourage teen club, and a video arcade (below...with Skee Ball, my favorite!)
We all enjoyed balcony cabins during the preview cruise. I have to say, I liked that the bed was next to the window, so I could lounge about and enjoy the view. These staterooms are between 207 - 234 square feet, and are comfortable, luxurious and inviting.

We also got to tour some of the other cabin types aboard this ship, such as the family oceanview cabin with a large picture window, a bathtub, and it can sleep three additional guests--no more splitting up a family of five!

But I have to say my favorite was the Haven Spa Suite, with the two person jacuzzi tub in the corner of the room, the huge balcony, and access to all of the pampering that comes with the Haven staterooms: private restaurant, sun deck, hot tubs, and 24-hour butler service.
The food was amazing, full stop! Have a look at the seafood buffet (below): lobster, king crab, oysters, calamari, halibut, salmon, and more, often prepared in several different ways. I definitely ate too much that day! There are five main dining rooms included in your cruise fare, and yes, the Garden Cafe with the seafood buffet is one of them. There are also eight specialty dining restaurants with a la carte pricing, and two additional dessert only cafes! We really enjoyed the crepes at Coco's.

I wish the weather was a bit warmer because many of the specialty restaurants were on Deck 8 in The Waterfront, offering indoor AND outdoor seating! The atmosphere was very much like our own Park Lane in Kirkland, where people can enjoy a bite to eat and enjoy the people watching as others stroll by.
And yes, we enjoyed the nightlife, too! Because we are Beatles fans, we spent part of each evening in the Cavern Club, where a very talented Beatles cover band plays two sets and gets the house rocking! That was some of the best people watching of all: seeing folks singing along quietly, then dancing a bit in their chairs, and finally getting to their feet.

The ship offers two Broadway shows as well, Jersey Boys and Havana, and both get rave reviews (although tickets were already gone when we looked into it, darn.) There is not a bad seat in the 900-seat theater, and the memory foam seats are super comfortable.

We also enjoyed some comedy in the Brewhouse, and some dancing, and lots of tasty cocktails. One of Seattle's local foodie celebrities, Kathy Casey, created some craft cocktails just for the Bliss, and they have them on tap in many of the bars...super convenient! But Bong at the Mojito Bar made some of the best drinks ever, definitely stop by and say Hi.
