PITTSBURGH, Pa.: What will be the most-talked-about (most-anticipated) panel at the NCLGS Summer Meeting? Odds are it will be a one-of-a-kind panel of professional sports bettors called, “Making a Living Off the Odds.”

Legendary sports betting icon Billy Walters will be joined by fellow sports bettor and betting advocate Spanky (Gadoon Kyrollos). Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from these two giants in sports betting and get a perspective from the player’s side of the counter.

The conversation will take place as part of the National Council of Legislators from Gaming States Summer Meeting, which will take place July 17-20 at Rivers Casino in Pittsburgh.

Billy Walters is known as one of, if not the most successful American sports bettors of all time, with a winning streak of more than 30 years. He also is a best-selling author with his book Gambler: Secrets from a Life at Risk. Gadoon “Spanky” Kyrollos is a former Wall Street investor who became a full-time sports bettor and is now a leader in the sports gambling business. He hosts the popular podcast, “Be Better Bettors,” and the very successful sports networking event, BetBash.

The discussion with these two legends in sports betting will be co-chaired by Delegate Shawn Fluharty of West Virginia, NCLGS President, and Senator Jason Barrett of West Virginia, NCLGS Treasurer. Offering additional insight will be Richard Schuetz, who is CEO of Schuetz LLC as well as a former gaming commissioner and casino executive.

The agenda and committee content for the Summer Meeting is posted on the www.NCLGS.org website, and early-bird registration rates are in effect until May 15. Additionally, a hotel group room block is available at The Landing Hotel, which is connected to Rivers Casino. Attendees are strongly encouraged to book early to secure their accommodation as space is limited and will sell out fast.

The NCLGS semiannual meetings attract state legislators as well as regulators, gaming operators and suppliers, attorneys, lobbyists, media, and other stakeholders to discuss all aspects of regulated gaming. The meetings help state legislators from across the country establish sound, effective gaming policies.

NCLGS attendance continues to grow; the recent Winter Meeting in Fort Lauderdale continued the trend of record attendance by attracting more than 300 people, and NCLGS meetings now consistently draw attendance of more than 100 legislators and regulators.
