Thanks to funding received from the Targeted Sector Support (TSS) initiative, SUMA is offering a 1-day procurement bootcamp for urban administrators of SUMA member municipalities at no cost.


On Tuesday May 28 from 8:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. join us in Saskatoon at the Saskatoon Inn and Conference Centre for a Procurement Bootcamp for Urban Municipal Administrators.


Step into this comprehensive workshop on urban municipal procurement, where you will be guided through a wide array of procurement essentials. From uncovering best practices to understanding mandatory requirements, policies, and cooperative buying groups, this workshop has you covered. 


In this workshop participants will gain a comprehensive understanding of the fundamental concepts, processes, and principles of urban municipal procurement. This includes learning about procurement methods, bidding processes, contract management, and supplier relationships. Through hands-on exercises and case studies participants will develop practical skills relevant to urban municipal procurement, including discussion on drafting procurement documents, evaluating supplier proposals, negotiating contracts, and resolving procurement-related challenges.

Facilitator Larry Berglund brings a wealth of experience in supply chain management including leadership positions in the forest industry, public health care, municipal government, university operations, academia, and consulting services. Larry has written several books on supply chain management holds an MBA, an SCMP and is a Fellow of Supply Chain Canada. He is an inductee to the Athabasca University, Faculty of Business, MBA Hall of Fame. In 2021 he received an Honourary Life Membership from the Supply Chain Canada, BC Institute.
