RELAY FOR LIFE
Princeton will host the town's first-ever Relay for Life for the American Cancer Society. Spearheaded by a local organization, The Virtuous Ladies Association, the event is scheduled for 7 p.m.-2 a.m. Friday, Oct. 6, at Jackie Hendricks Stadium. To join the fight, visit  www.RelayForLife.org/PrincetonTX.

SENIOR LEADERSHIP SERIES
The local churches are joining efforts to offer encouragement to the students as they end one era of their lives and prepare for the next important chapter.

Dubbed the "Senior Leadership Series" by Princeton's ministerial alliance, Christ Cares for Princeton, the event is scheduled 5-7 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 5, in the PHS auditorium.

But this is not just about the kids. As parents are at the beginning of all the lasts they will experience with their seniors this year, this event will be as much for them as it is for the students.

Organizers say it's important to encourage the seniors to not give up on their goals. In addition, they want them to make God a priority in their lives as they make important decisions about their future when the tendency is to succumb to senioritis and blow off the final days, weeks or months of their high school education.

Throughout the night, the Class of 2018 and their parents will be treated to encouraging words from local leaders, as well as a couple of teachers and coaches who they have spent the last few years looking to for guidance. As an added bonus, a student-led band will lead the group in worship music.

Guests will be treated to snacks, and seniors won't leave empty-handed as there will be opportunities to win prizes.

In addition to fund-raising games and a bake sale, long-sleeve "Dig Pink" T-shirts are available for $20, if you order today. Click here for a shirt order form.
