COUNTY DINE SCENE CONTINUES TO BLOOM WITH PENDING ADDITION OF CELEB CHEFS AT MGM
Voltaggio Bros, Jose Andres, and Marcus Samuelsson each developing dine concepts for MGM National Harbor...
Things just got deliciously hotter in the PGC kitchen. MGM National Harbor (opening fall 2016) has announced a "top chef" lineup of culinary masters for its signature restaurant cluster. On tap are offerings from José Andrés, Marcus Samuelsson (pictured), and Maryland natives Bryan and Michael Voltaggio.

Each new concept has been carefully crafted to pay homage to the culture and influence of the region's prominent culinary landscape.  Andres will create his first seafood-focused concept. Samuelsson's spot will feature signature creations and classic dishes. And, the Brothers Voltaggio will introduce a contemporary steakhouse concept.
CRAFTY CREATIONS GOOD ENOUGH TO EAT AT GINGERBREAD HOUSE CONTEST & SHOW
Amazing display of gingerbread houses by kids, seasoned bakers, amateurs builders...
In a region ripe with development, this may be the tastiest house on the block. The 16th Annual Gingerbread House Contest & Show is underway at Darnall's Chance House Museum in Upper Marlboro.

This year's event runs Fri-Sun thru December 14. There's a category for children and adults, with a Gingerbread House Committee awarding ribbons and honorable mentions to top creations. There is also a Viewer's Choice Award competition.

A SPECIAL HOLIDAY GIFT: PGC REZ AWARDED "WOMEN OF WORTH" 2015 NATIONAL HONOREE
Local woman gains national attention, awarded $35k for bringing birthday joy to homeless children...
In addition to our wonderful hospitality, attractions, historic sites, sports, and amenities, we have some of the best, brightest and most caring people in the world here in PGC. Each day, through their extraordinary acts, they confirm that Prince George's is the place to be.

So, we're thrill that Schinnell Leake of College Park was named L'Oréal Paris 2015 Women of Worth National Honoree (at the 10th Anniversary Celebration in NYC on December 1). In addition to the national recognition, she was awarded $35K by L'Oréal Paris to support her cause - Extra-Ordinary Birthdays.

Leake is the founder of the non-profit Extra-Ordinary Birthdays whose mission is "to transform the lives of homeless children by creating personalized birthdays that make them feel valued and inspire moments of delight in their lives". Leake create EOB after learning that more than 2,000 children live in homeless shelters throughout the DC metro area. To date, EOB has thrown more than 400 birthday parties in Maryland and DC.

L'Oréal Paris Women of Worth is a philanthropic program that recognizes passionate and selfless women who dedicate their lives to giving back and making a difference.
