Slimmest of All People,

I came up with a GREAT Christmas gift idea. A wreath made out of hundred dollar bills.

I'm calling it...Aretha Franklins!

Hello SlimStones!

Happy holidays! I hope everyone is feeling merry and bright.

Looking back on 2023, there were a lot of things to be proud of here at Slim's Shady Trailer Park.

Besides hiring our first Head of Caffeine Abuse, Bruno...

Bruno Moore.

The concert at Catalina was the best the Slim Man Band has ever done. Seriously! We put so much effort and heart and soul into that show, and it all paid off! I was really proud of the way the band stepped it up.

We done good!

The new Slim Man Bona Fide CD turned out great. Proud of that thing!

I went all in on that album. I decided to go for it.

I brought in some heavy hitters! Players like Peter White on guitar, Philippe Saisse on piano, Marc Antoine on guitar.

Sure, I had to pawn my Airstream to pay for it all, but I'm so proud of how it sounds.

I wrote a new screenplay called I Got You Babe.

Speaking of pride...it's a crazy story about a straight, struggling musician who reluctantly takes a gig as a Cher impersonator at his gay cousin's drag club to pay his mom's medical bills.

It's Tootsie meets Birdcage. It was a semifinalist in the Nashville Film Festival.

I posted I Got You Babe on my website, a producer read it, loved it and signed it. True story! She has a couple production companies interested. We shall see what happens, Slim Ones.

If I win the Oscar for Best Screenplay, I'm gonna use it as the hood ornament on my 1979 AMC Pacer. Now that's pride!

So, there were lots of things to beat the chest about in 2023.

One of the things I'm most proud of?

The Rat Pack Show I did in September with Hit Man Howie Z.

Howie and daughter Lex at La Scala

The show was a benefit for Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. We did it at La Scala, an amazing Italian restaurant in Baltimore owned by our friend, Nino.

And we three amigos--Slimmy, Howie and Nino--raised over $10,000 that night to help kids in need of medical care.

Years ago, I used to volunteer at MWPH.

I was what they call a "cuddler." For a couple hours every week, I would hold and feed newborns. True story.

These infants came into this world with some horrible disadvantages. Some were born addicted to crack, others had Fetal Alcohol Syndrome, some had AIDS. It was heartbreaking.

I'd try my best to comfort these ailing newborns so the nurses could attend to more important things, like giving injections, administering medications, and checking IVs.

It was one of the most difficult things I've ever done. And one of the things I'm most proud of.

I stayed with it for more than eight years. And to this day, I still try to help in any way I can.

Like doing benefit concerts for Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital. Over the years, Howie, Nino and I have raised over $50,000 at La Scala alone!

Last Christmas I did an online benefit here in Palm Springs on Facebook that brought in thousands of buckaroos. We raised some serious dough!

And last week, the folks at MWPH asked if I could do another one.

Sure! Why not! 'Tis the Season...

So this Wednesday (TOMORROW!), December 20th, the Slim Man Chase Huna Rat Pack Duo is gonna host the benefit!

Tune in at 6 PM PT to my Facebook page (Slim Manicotti) to see the LIVE stream of the Rat Pack Duo. We'll be playing all your favorite Frank, Dino, and Nat songs.

The show will be broadcast LIVE from Larkspur Grill at Hotel Paseo in Palm Desert, CA. Barring any internet hitches, technical glitches or grouchy Grinches!

We'll have a link on the broadcast to donate directly to MWPH.

You can also donate right here, right now:

https://www.mwph.org/giving/gift

Every dollar raised goes directly to the hospital.

Let's generate a little Christmas cheer, Slim People! Put some ducats in the bucket!

We know this is short notice, but we'll keep the show up on Facebook for a couple weeks. And we'll post it on YouTube as well.

One of the many wonderful things about Mt. Washington Pediatric Hospital is how they provide high quality health care to kids in need, regardless of their family's ability to pay.

So this holiday season, let's show some love for some kids who could really use it.

It's all about love, Slim People. Thanks for a most wonderful year.

Who loves ya?
