Sermon:

"The Power of Pentecost"

Sacred Text:

Acts 2:1-13

Worship (in-person and online):

10:30 AM

A Word from Rev. Ray

This Sunday we celebrate Pentecost, a significant event in the Christian church. Pentecost marks the descent of the Holy Spirit upon the apostles and other followers of Jesus Christ. This event is described in the Book of Acts (Chapter 2) and is considered the birth of the Church because it's when the disciples were filled with the Holy Spirit and began to spread Jesus' message, leading to the rapid growth of early Christianity.

This Sunday we will look at Pentecost versus Pentecostal which should make for an interesting sermon! Having the indwelling of the Holy Spirit is not just for those in Pentecostal Churches, it is for all believers. Pentecost is primarily about the fulfillment of Jesus' promise to send the Holy Spirit to guide, empower, and inspire the believers after His ascension.

Do you have the Holy Spirit? Come out on Sunday and hear about some of the characteristics of being filled with the Holy Spirit.

Blessings,

Rev. Ray

This program is designed to help us grow as individuals and together as a Church.

Our theme this year is "There's No Place Like Home." What a journey we have been on to get “home”. As we settle in to our new facility, there is a lot to do at the church and beyond the church.  If you haven't yet filled one out, you can still do so. Put it in the offering basket, mail it to the church office (6085 Park Blvd., Pinellas Park, FL 33781) or email it to melanie@churchstpetersburg.org.
