HOLIDAY DRIVERS ARE TAKING ADVANTAGE OF THE 'NEW' TESLA SUPERCHARGER STATION LOCATED AT THE KINGSLAND WELCOME CENTER, INTERSTATE 95 AT EXIT 3.
December 14, 2015 (Kingsland, GA): Tesla Motors, the California-based maker of the award-winning Model S electric sedan, has expanded its Supercharger network with the opening of a Supercharger Station in Kingsland, GA. The City of Kingsland entered into an agreement with Tesla Motors, Inc. to lease six (6) parking spaces located at the Kingsland Welcome Center. Tesla Motors was solely responsible for the construction and outfitting of the Supercharger stations at no cost to local tax payers. In addition, Tesla Motors will be responsible for all of the utility services provided or used during the term of the Lease and carries its own commercial general liability insurance.
Conveniently located near Interstate 95, the Kingsland Supercharger Station allows Model S owners to charge their vehicles when traveling to and from Florida. The six (6) Tesla Model S Supercharger stations can add up to 170 miles of range on a Model S in just 30 minutes of charging. Superchargers are designed for city to city travel, allowing Tesla Model S electric vehicle drivers to travel for about three (3) hours, take a quick break, and get back on the road with a full charge.
About Tesla Supercharging
Tesla Superchargers charge Model S in minutes instead of hours. The ability to quick charge, allows easy long-distance travel along well-traveled highways around the world. The Tesla
Supercharger
is substantially more powerful than any existing charging technology, providing up to 120 kilowatts of power and 170 miles of range in 30 minutes.
Supercharger stations are strategically placed to allow owners to drive from station to station with minimal stops. Stations are located near amenities like roadside diners, cafes, and shopping centers so road trippers can stop for a quick meal and have their Model S charged by the time they're done. Charles Murphy, General Manager of the Hampton Inn - Kingsland states, "I've seen over 20 vehicles a week stopping and charging since the Kingsland Supercharger station opened. I will be adding the convenient location of the Supercharger station to my website amenities soon." Since announcing the technology in late 2012, Tesla has deployed over 550 Supercharger Stations and more than 3,100 Superchargers worldwide, making it the fastest-growing fast-charging network in the world.
