FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE

Headliner Cancellation for Canton's River Rock Music Fest Sat., July 27; New Headliner to Be Announced Next Week

(CANTON, Georgia, June 20, 2024)—The City of Canton received unfortunate news earlier this week that Mark Chesnutt will no longer be able to perform as a headliner at River Rock Music Fest on Sat., July 27.

Statement released by Chesnutt's Management:

Mark Chesnutt, one of the most signatured country music voices of the 90s and a honky tonk mainstay for more than three decades, had a heart health issue over the weekend that hospitalized him the evening of Sun., June 16, so he could undergo emergency quadruple bypass surgery. The recuperation time will make it necessary to cancel show dates. Please respect the privacy of the family during this difficult time of recovery.

“It is with a heavy heart that I announce the cancellation of my upcoming shows,” announced Chesnutt. "I send my love and gratitude to my family and friends, the band and fans for your understanding, prayers and support, and look forward to seeing you all again soon at a honky tonk near you.”

The City plans to work with Chesnutt's management company to secure a replacement headliner in the coming weeks. The new headliner announcement will be made soon.
