WORCESTER, MA – The Downtown Worcester Business Improvement District (BID) proudly welcomes two distinguished professionals, Evelyn Cabrera and Seth Pitts, to its Board of Directors. Their inclusion is a meaningful step for the BID, tapping into their experience and expertise to further the organization's mission of fostering economic growth, improving quality of life, and contributing to the vitality of Downtown Worcester.
“Today, we are delighted to announce the addition of Evelyn Cabrera and Seth Pitts to the Downtown Worcester BID Board of Directors,” stated newly appointed Downtown Worcester BID Board Chair Julian Wade. “Their wealth of knowledge, unique perspectives on Downtown, and diverse backgrounds will be instrumental in advancing the BID’s work to promote economic growth, improve quality of life, and foster more development in the heart of Worcester.”
Evelyn Cabrera serves as the Director of Housing and Shelter at the YWCA of Central Massachusetts and has a strong background in social services and community development. Her current role involves spearheading initiatives to improve housing accessibility and support services for women and their families. As a BID Board member, Cabrera's expertise in community engagement and social services will play an important role in supporting Downtown Worcester’s quality of life initiatives aimed at making Downtown more welcoming to all.
“Since its inception, the Downtown Worcester BID has been a thoughtful community partner and passionate steward of our downtown,” said Cabrera. “I look forward to collaborating with the Board, staff, and the community to further enhance our collective efforts to make Downtown Worcester a place where all are welcomed, valued, and included, and to champion the many people, businesses, and organizations that contribute to the vibrancy of this neighborhood.”
Seth Pitts, President & CEO of Bay State Savings Bank, joins the BID Board with extensive experience in financial services. Leading one of the region's prominent financial institutions, Pitts has played a key role in supporting local businesses and fostering economic stability. As a Board member, Pitts’ expertise in financial management and community development will bolster the BID's efforts to create a Downtown environment that is attractive for new businesses and investment in the area.
“Joining the Downtown Worcester BID Board of Directors is an exciting opportunity,” said Pitts. “I see so many great things happening in Downtown Worcester already and, thanks to the BID, the future looks even brighter. I am eager to collaborate with the BID Board to unlock possibilities and elevate our downtown into an even more vibrant and dynamic neighborhood.”
