Fullerton College Welcomes Students to Fall 2022
Fullerton College is excited to welcome students to the fall 2022 semester with most classes beginning on Aug. 22. The campus expects more than 10,600 students to attend in-person classes and services this semester and nearly 6,000 students are enrolled in online courses. Fullerton College will continue to offer all students the same resources and support that first became available during the pandemic, including laptop loans, free parking, free student IDs, and free daily meals.

Disney Aspire Partners With Fullerton College
Disney Aspire, The Walt Disney Company’s education investment and career development program that offers 100 percent tuition paid upfront for hourly employees, has welcomed two new additions to its growing network of educational providers: Fullerton College and Cal State Fullerton.

Fullerton College is a National Center of Academic Excellence for Cyber Defense
The Department of Homeland Security and the National Security Agency have designated Fullerton College’s Cybersecurity program as a National Center of Academic Excellence in Cyber Defense (CAE-CD).

Fullerton College to Host Free Vaccination Clinic, 8/25
Fullerton College will host a free COVID-19 vaccination clinic on Thursday, Aug. 25 from 3– 6 p.m. in Building 200, Rooms 224/226/228.
Registration is encouraged and individuals may register for an appointment at Othena website. The vaccination clinic is open to the campus community. Walk-ins are welcome.

Hispanic-Serving Institutions (HSI) Week, Sept. 12 – 18
Fullerton College and the Cadena Cultural Center will celebrate National Hispanic-Serving Institutions Week, Sept. 12 – 18. The week-long celebration recognizes more than 500 HSI’s throughout the nation for their work and critical role in educating and empowering Hispanic youth. The Cadena Cultural Center will launch a social media campaign throughout the week and will have a celebration in the quad on Sept. 15. Stay tuned for more details and additional campus events.

Fall 2022 Parking Permits and Campus Photo ID Cards are Free for Enrolled Students
Fall 2022 parking permits are free for enrolled students. Parking permits are available for pick up at the Campus Safety Office located in Building 1500, if you haven’t already received yours in the mail. For more information, visit the Campus Safety Office webpage.
Campus photo ID cards are also free for all enrolled students for Fall 2022. Students who wish to obtain a campus photo ID have two options. One, they can submit a campus photo ID card request to Student Life and Leadership. The request will ask students to submit a photo to use on their campus photo ID card. Two, students can do a walk-in and get their photo taken for their campus photo ID card at the Student Life and Leadership Office (Building 200, Room 214).

Fall 2022 Classes and In-Person Registration Support Available
Need some extra classes? Look at the open class schedule to see what classes are available. Find the course that’s right for you and fits your schedule! Fullerton College has flexible options with in-person, online, and hybrid courses.
If you need help registering for classes, FC Promise and Counseling will host their last week of in-person registration assistance this week. They will be available on Aug. 22 and Aug. 25 from 10 a.m.–12 p.m., and Aug. 23–24 from 2–4 p.m. at Building 2000, Room 2028.

FC Theatre Arts & Choral/Vocal Auditions Held This Week
Students are invited to audition for a variety of Fullerton College music groups and two theatrical productions – “Marian, or the True Tale of Robin Hood” and “Spitfire Grill.”

Faculty and Staff Gather for Fall 2022 at Convocation
Faculty and staff kicked off the start of the fall semester at Fall 2022 Convocation in the Campus Theatre on Aug. 19. The event included greetings and updates from the NOCCCD Chancellor, Board of Trustees, Fullerton College Faculty and Classified Senates, and Interim President Dr. Monte Perez. Special guests Assemblywoman Sharon Quirk-Silva and Fullerton City Police Chief Robert Dunn also provided remarks. Classified Professionals Luncheon, Softball Game Kick Off In-person Activity
In-person staff activities are revving back up at Fullerton College! The Classified Professionals Appreciation Luncheon was held on Aug. 16 in the Campus Dining Hall. Classified employees enjoyed a taco grill catered by Sodexo with sides and desserts served by FC's management team. Nichole Crockrom, newly elected Classified Senate President, announced Linnet Reyes as the Classified Professional of the Year award recipient. Reyes is an afternoon shift custodial coordinator who begins her job when most people finish their day at Fullerton College. See photos here.
The following day, colleagues participated in an employee softball game. Hot dogs and refreshments were provided for players and spectators.

Football
As the fall season quickly draws near, three more 2021 Hornets have found homes at the next level. Kashan Griffin joined D2 powerhouse Northwest Missouri State after leading the Hornets in 2021 with 39 receptions for 441 yards. A smart and physical offensive lineman out of El Dorado High, Nathan Ramirez will stay a Hornet signing with 2021 Big Sky champion Sacramento State. Peyton Sattler from Dexter High (Michigan) signed with Missouri Southern State. Read more about this Football story here. Up Next: The Hornets play a scrimmage game this Wednesday, Aug. 24 at Palomar College at 1 p.m. The season opener is at Santa Ana College on Saturday, Sept. 3 for the 99th Key to the County game.
Baseball
On Wednesday, West Coast League Commissioner Rob Neyer announced the winners of the League's top two individual awards: Most Valuable Player and Pitcher of the Year. This year Wenatchee AppleSox second baseman Joichiro Oyama (UC Irvine) and Ridgefield Raptors outfielder/catcher Jacob Sharp (Fullertron College/UNLV) were selected by WCL coaches and executives as co-MVPs.
