June President's Letter

Dear FPA Metro New York Chapter Members,

I hope everyone had a great holiday weekend.

I am thrilled to introduce our new Pro Bono Director, Anna Van Pilsum-Johnson! Annie has been an active and dedicated member of our chapter’s NexGen and Pro Bono communities, demonstrating her passion for financial literacy and her commitment to giving back. Over the past six months, I have truly enjoyed getting to know her; she brings great energy and is always a friendly face at our in-person events! Welcome, Annie, we are excited to have you!

I also want to highlight our upcoming summer social event in two weeks, on Wednesday, June 12^th at Five Iron Golf. I personally, am a terrible golfer but am excited to embarrass myself and have a good laugh! Even more so, I am looking forward to seeing and meeting as many of you as possible for a fun evening of networking over good food and cold drinks! REGISTER HERE

A few weeks ago, we hosted an engaging and informative Media Training session with local media experts and Ben Lewis, Chief Communications Officer of the Financial Planning Association. Hearing directly from journalists was invaluable, as we learned tips, tricks, and gained a deeper understanding of how to effectively communicate our expertise when they seek subject matter experts. The evening was not only educational but also enjoyable, providing an opportunity to mingle with both the media professionals and our chapter members. Thank you to everyone who attended!
