Greetings!
Every year, as we approach the season of Lent, we tend to prepare by asking: “What am I going to give up for Lent?” The answer to this question is usually around food. “I am giving up sweets or I am giving up carbs.” Don’t get me wrong those are all good. But we have to keep in mind that Lent is not a time to go on a diet or to lose weight. Rather, give up something because it helps us renew our spiritual lives and build a better relationship with God and others. Read more...
Like last year, observance of the Lenten season is being modified because of the pandemic. There will be changes in our celebration of Ash Wednesday, which will be discussed in a 4-minute of catechesis at our Masses this weekend. Chances are Holy Week will also be celebrated in a nuanced way. To start our lenten journey, please join us for our Lenten series-Through the Desert with Jesus.
God Bless,
Fr. Ritche

Hola Amigos Family,
School is back in! The Amigos Academy at La Chuscada is welcoming its first group of students, all 210 of them! Today is a monumental day for education in Nicaragua. For the first time, students are receiving a world-class education at a world-class campus in rural Nicaragua.
Thanks to Holy Spirit parishioners who donated $53,222.30 to Amigos for Christ during December. Funds will go to support livestock, water and sanitation, education and hygiene for rural Nicaragua.A special thanks to Rebecca Cullen and Dave Morreira who organized this year’s GOO campaign at Holy Spirit.
