Prayer and Communication Committee

This committee, made up of members of the District Advisory Council responsible for the process of selecting candidates for the next District Superintendent, is focused on praying over every aspect of this process and keeping the district informed.

March Updates:


  • Interviews of nominees for District Superintendent were conducted and concluded.


  • Each nominee was given the opportunity to answer questions from Dr. Chambo, Dr. Reeder and DAC members.



  • Post interview discussion about each nominee was led by Dr. Chambo and Dr. Reeder.


As we head into the final month of our current superintendency, please continue to pray for the smooth transition of our district leadership. Be in prayer for a spirit-filled fellowship at District Assembly.

As a reminder, names of candidates will remain confidential until the Friday business session of District Assembly in an effort to protect their privacy throughout this process. DS Search Process Calendar:


NOVEMBER

  • District Profile finalized & sent out with nomination link
  • Deadline for all nominations is 11/28/23


DECEMBER

  • Biographical information for all nominations completed


JANUARY

  • Biographical information document sent to District Advisory Council (DAC) along with straw ballot to register first 5 choices
  • DAC meeting to discern list of 10 candidates and finalize compensation package
  • List of 10 sent to Board of General Superintendents for approval
  • Regional Director sends approved list to DAC with survey to take straw ballot of top three candidates


FEBRUARY

  • DAC meeting to prioritize remaining candidate list and discern 2-3 with whom to invite to conversations
  • Regional Director (RD) or Jurisdictional General Superintendent (JGS) to set up dates for conversations with nominees; DAC determine questions for conversations
  • RD sends questions to candidates and begins interviews with candidates
  • DAC meets to finalize upcoming transition details and appoint transition point person


MARCH

  • Process committee completes process and candidate presentation for District Assembly


APRIL

  • District Assembly - farewell to current DS, election/welcome of new DS 30 days following Assembly.
