JOIN THE SHLC Blood Drive TOMORROW!
We are so excited to be teaming up with Bloodwork's Northwest and hosting a blood drive in the SHLC Fellowship Hall, April 9th. Giving blood does not get any easier than this. Please consider giving as all blood types are needed. Go to Bloodworks - Donor Portal (bloodworksnw.org) and sign up today! As of right now we still have 20+ open spots!!
Can't make this one? We will be having an onsite mobile blood drive on May 18th in the SHLC Parking lot! Go here to sign-up for that blood drive!

Church Council Meeting!
Join the church council meeting TOMORROW, Tuesday, April 9th at 6:30pm at Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church inside the Fellowship Hall. Everyone and anyone is encouraged to attend this monthly gathering so don't be shy and we'll see you at a meeting which typically happen the second Tuesday of each month at 6:30pm.

OPEN PLAY Volunteers Wednesdays // No Open Play April 17
This is a fantastic community program where SHLC opens the Fellowship Hall doors every Wednesday from 9:30-11:30am for a community indoor playtime for babies, toddlers and young children AND their care givers. We provide warm coffee for adults and snacks for the littles as well!! This program has been very popular and would love to add more names to our list of volunteers who can help. We are looking for volunteers who can help oversee this gathering each week with others. Our volunteers help with setting up, chit chatting with families during Open Play, helping people check in and put away. If you can may be able to help time to time please email us at the church office at worship@shlc.org. No Open Play April 17th.

Join the Day of Service Team at a Vision House Luncheon!!!!
You’re invited to join the SHLC Day of Service Team at the Vision House Luncheon Tuesday May 21st from 12:00-1:00pm at the Meydenbauer Center in Bellevue for an hour of laughs and inspiration. Enjoy lunch while being challenged and encouraged; and learn how you can end family homelessness, one family at a time. We have a table at the luncheon with room for 5 more people. Stewardship Giving Table in the Fellowship Hall
Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church is presently offering the opportunity for all members to create a delicious food item (main dish, dessert, side dish, treat etc.) for folks to prayerfully donate. Our members can obtain their food item with a donation earmarked to the Stewardship Giving Table.
If you are willing to participate in this act of stewardship, contact the church office at worship@shlc.org today! Please include the following information: name, food item, suggested donation, contact information including cell phone and email. If you are willing to obtain the food donation, go to the Fellowship Hall Giving Table to see what is available, then contact the donator of selected item(s) to make specific arrangements. Mary's Place Mary’s Place ensures that no child sleeps outside and we are volunteering at one of 5 emergency family shelters in Bellevue. Want to try something new this year? Help us plant beans in little sprout cups with the residents or help the children paint rocks for their garden. This is an indoor event so volunteers must be vaccinated and wear masks for everyone’s safety. Perfect for Grandmothers and Grandpa’s to volunteer. (must be over 18) Please join us using this link!!!
Habitat for Humanity Build WE NEED YOU!!! Help us build a home for a family. Seattle Build project. No skills necessary but signing up on our site AND their site is necessary. Event is 16+ with a parent. To get started, we need everyone to register with a volunteer account and sign up prior to the volunteer day in order to be allowed on site. This is the coolest organization because of the amount of “equity hours” each participant must log in before they are eligible to get their own house. This organization gives a hand up, not a hand out. With the current housing shortage, the sooner we can get homes like this built, the better. Can you help?
Helping Give Back www.HelpingGiveBack.org HELPING GIVE BACK is a Sammamish charity that reaches out to our local homeless during the holidays receiving a Secret Santa wish list from each of them and fulfill their actual homeless wishes year after year! We are collecting gift cards from Amazon, Ross or Marshalls for our 2024 HOMELESS HOLIDAY GIFT DRIVE! These can be dropped off or mailed to the church office at 22818 SE 8th St, Sammamish 98074.

Blood Drive ON THE Day of Service!
The gift of an hour of your time and a pint of blood is needed by our Pacific Northwest hospitals. Join us in May, and take part in the Annual Day of Service with Sammamish Hills Lutheran Church 5/18. Help boost the community blood supply as a blood donor. Your donation will be used by those fighting cancer, those surviving traumatic accidents, and by organ transplant patients. The Bloodworks bloodmobile will be in the church parking lot for the day on May 18th. Blood donors age 16 and older can book appointments to help save lives.

Essentials First and the Day of Service
The Day of Service is starting is collecting items for Refugees arriving in our country. We are collecting nonfood items that are absolutely essential. There is an orange box in the Fellowship Hall where you can drop off any new donated items. We have already collected 391.6 pounds of goods!!
Items we are in need of are: toothpaste, toothbrushes and razors

Zoom Prayer Group with Pr. Dave
Join Pastor Dave each Tuesday morning at 10:00am on Zoom for an hour of sharing life, talking faith, and praying together for the concerns in our lives, the world, and being connected with caring hearts and minds.
