MARCH 2024

Principal Message

The Times, They Are A Changin'

The best part about being principals is seeing the variety of learning happening all over the building. It’s a journey through time and space. In one classroom, students are looking at how atoms work and how viruses spread. In another, they’re exploring our nation’s history and the events that shaped us. Students journey back in time to see how things used to be, how they got us to where we are today, and dream about what the future will hold. There’s a reason we refer to our teachers as magical.

March brings some exciting opportunities along with it. Warmer weather means that maple syrup season is upon us. Fourth graders are busy in the Hartje Center forest tapping trees, collecting sap, and seeing the boiling process from start to finish.

March is also when our spring parent-teacher conferences will take place. Be on the lookout for details from your child’s homeroom teacher about scheduling a time to learn more about your child’s progress.

Lastly, we leave you this month with some bittersweet news. Mr. Beyer will be retiring at the end of this school year and Mr. Frey will be taking over as principal. The Beyer/Frey team was a special one, but if there’s one constant in life it’s that things change

Join us in thanking Mr. Beyer for his myriad of roles and accomplishments. He’s served as a teacher, coach, and administrator for 30 years and success followed him in all of those roles including several deep playoff runs in football (including a state title victory), and Prairie Ridge itself would not be here without his efforts, vision, and dreams. He leaves behind a legacy that will last well beyond his ride into the sunset.

Respectfully,

Clint Beyer, Principal

Travis Frey, Associate Principal

Community Survey Coming Soon

The School District of Reedsburg Board of Education seeks input on a potential phase one project. In early March, a community-wide survey will be distributed to gather input to help the board determine its next steps in the process.

The community's feedback will aid in deciding whether to proceed with the current project scope, make necessary adjustments, or temporarily halt facilities planning. Implementing the long-term facility plan in phases will help to distribute costs over time, making it more affordable for taxpayers. It's crucial to receive input and direction from the survey about the potential first phase, so please take the time to complete it.

Go to the website to learn more about the Long-Term Facilities Plan and Building Excellence at the School District of Reedsburg.
