Restoration of Prado Dam Mural Begins

Painting has begun to restore the iconic patriotic mural on the Prado Dam near Corona after years of advocacy and a legal battle for the beloved artwork created nearly four decades ago. The mural was created by 30 Corona high school students in 1976 to mark the nation’s bicentennial.

Arnold Holland Appointed Dean of Cal State Fullerton’s College of the Arts

Arnold Holland was recently appointed Dean of Cal State Fullerton’s College of the Arts, effective April 3. Holland had served as interim dean of the college for the past two years. Prior to that, he served as associate dean for the college.

Fullerton Union High School Theatre Program Receives National Honors

Fullerton Union High School has been honored with the distinction of being named a Premiere Community for Theatre Education for its outstanding commitment to the field. The Educational Theatre Association (EdTA) recognizes individual schools that demonstrate outstanding achievement in efforts to provide theatre access and education to all students.

The Andy Warhol Foundation Arts Writers Grant is accepting applications for awards ranging from $15,000 to $50,000. The programs covers three categories—articles, books and short-form writing.

California Arts Council Opens Applications for Grant Review Panelists

Deadline Next Week!

The California Arts Council has opened the call for applicants to serve on peer-review panels for the 2023 grant season. The state art agency is seeking arts and cultural practitioners from disparate communities statewide to volunteer for a critical role in the grant application process as field representatives.


Grant panelists work both independently and virtually alongside California Arts Council staff Programs Specialists and other panelists to evaluate grant applications, ensuring an equitable, honest, and thorough review and ranking process.

Apply for Individual Artist Fellowship

Arts Orange County invites artists practicing any art form to apply for a prestigious California Arts Council Individual Artist Fellowship. Unrestricted awards range from $5,000 to $50,000. The application deadline is April 14, 2023.


ArtsOC is the administering organization for the Region I portion of this statewide program. Region I includes North County Coalition for the Arts in Imperial County; Arts Orange County in Orange County; Riverside Arts Council in Riverside County; Arts Connection in San Bernardino County; San Diego Commission for Arts and Culture in San Diego County.
