Equipping farmers to build resilient farms and communities.
PFI field days are back!

As vaccination rates climb and COVID-19 cases have fallen, we have worked with farmers to build this additional line-up of field days.

These field days do not require pre-registration or RSVPs, and there are no caps on attendance – but some event hosts have requested RSVPs to help with meal planning, and all events have an option to RSVP if you want to let us know you’ll be attending.

The field days listed on this page are in addition to our two on-going summer events series, "Catching Up" and "Live From the Farm"
From the magazine
In this “Live From the Farm” episode, follow along a tour of Clarion Locker, a newly expanded state-inspected facility that processes beef, deer, pork, lamb, goat and bison.

Owners Elmarie and Manie Nel take us through the plant and we check out meat-cutting while discussing meat quality.

We also see their new roll stock machine and hear how they package and label their customer’s meats.
This month we’ve committed to raising $30,000 to invest in the bold plans laid out in our new 2021-2023 strategic plan. In this plan we are building on the work that has made us successful over the past 35 years, and we’re exploring new areas of growth for the future. Please donate today to support our practical vision, including:

  • Healthy environments stemming from responsible land stewardship
  • Thriving rural communities filled with resilient and profitable farms
  • Farming as a desirable vocation and new farmers are equipped to succeed
  • PFI well-positioned for success, impact, and growth

Thank you to those who have donated! We’re so grateful for our supportive network.
More details for "Catching Up" events
RSVPs are required for all "Catching Up" events to ensure we maintain the small, conversational environment for which these events are designed.

Anyone is welcome to RSVP for a "Catching Up" event! To learn more about a specific event or to RSVP, email the PFI staffer indicated, or call the PFI office at (515) 232-5661.
