Jan Libbey and Tim Landgraf, lifetime members of Practical Farmers of Iowa from Kanawha, Iowa, are recipients of PFI's 2022 Sustainable Agriculture Achievement Award.

Over the years, Jan and Tim have raised a wide array of local foods including fruits, vegetables and poultry. Throughout their years farming, Jan and Tim have invested in substantial habitat and conservation on their land.

Jan and Tim have been extremely active in Practical Farmers of Iowa and many other agricultural organizations.

The award will be presented tonight, Jan. 21, at 5:30 p.m. during PFI's 2022 annual conference, "Facing the Horizon."

Farmers in Illinois, Iowa, Minnesota, Nebraska and Wisconsin may earn up to $30 per acre in 2022 for growing a small-grain crop with a legume cover crop and reducing nitrogen fertilizer on corn that follows your small grain in rotation.

Acres must be conventional or in transition to organic (certified organic acres are ineligible).

Acres may be able to overlap with EQIP or private carbon programs. Please inquire to see if you are eligible.
