Twenty-seven graduates pose for a picture on April 18, 2024. They are joined by SVCC President, Dr. Quentin R. Johnson and instructors Clyde Robertson and Mike Costley.

Karen M. Kinslow, Vice President - Distribution Operations, Dominion Energy Virginia was the PLW graduation speaker. Dominion Energy Virginia continues to be a great partner to SVCC and the Power Line Worker Training School.  

At the conclusion of the graduation demonstrations, Matthew Lucie of Meherrin, VA, surprises Ellis with a marriage proposal. She said "YES!" What a fun day it was!

Andrew Strickland from Catlett, Virginia, was chosen to receive the cohort's Climbing Higher Award. Recipient characteristics include:

• Recognizes PLW as more than a career, it is a lifestyle

Cohort #24 welcomed brothers of two graduates to the class.  Matthew Geovannello's (second from the left) brother, Scott was a graduate of Cohort #6 and is part of the Southside Electric Cooperative family. Hunter Darden's brother, Robert (far right) was a graduate of Cohort #18 and is part of the Community Electric Cooperative family.
