SPECIAL HUNGER ACTION MONTH E-NEWSLETTER

YOU can make a difference this Hunger Action Month!

Throughout September we invite you to join with our staff (pictured right) and Feeding America for Hunger Action Month.

The mission of the Great Plains Food Bank is to end hunger together and we can all play a role to feed our hungry neighbors in need. Whether it is making food or financial donations, giving time back by volunteering or joining us as a Hunger Advocate, no action is too small to make a difference for hungry children, seniors and families.

Find ways you can take action this Hunger Action Month below!

HOW YOU CAN HELP THIS HUNGER ACTION MONTH

VOLUNTEER

In a single year, nearly 4,000 volunteers provide more than 12,000 hours helping in our work.

Whether that is in our Fargo warehouse, Bismarck regional service center or at stops of our mobile food pantry, volunteers are critical to our mission to end hunger together.

VOLUNTEER NOW

ADVOCATE

Your voice is crucially important to our ability to feed hungry neighbors in need.

By signing up to become a Great Plains Food Bank Hunger Advocate, you will receive updates on key issues related to hunger-relief in our region and what you can do to help.

BECOME AN ADVOCATE

GIVE FOOD

Have extra food items available to donate to help feed those in need?

The amount of food available to the Great Plains Food Bank dropped by 15 percent in the last fiscal year. Donations made to the organization or your local food pantry are needed now more than ever.

MAKE A FOOD DONATION

Help us Stock the Shelves this

Hunger Action Month 🌾

Your financial gifts to the Great Plains Food Bank are critical right now to our ability to serve those in need as we continue to see an increased demand with fewer amounts of food available to distribute.

Thanks to our friends at Corwin, your gifts made through Stock the Shelves will be DOUBLED allowing you to make twice the impact in the fight to end hunger!

Elevating Voices: Heather's Story

Heather and her family could have been the subject of a Norman Rockwell painting. Her husband is a U.S. Army veteran, she has been a teacher for the past decade and the couple has three children – ages 8, 6 and 2.

But what likely wouldn’t have been communicated in a nostalgic look at a mid-1900s American Family is the current reality they face – they are in need of food assistance.

Read Heather's full story and how the Great Plains Food Bank has helped her family here.
