Business Profile - Durward's Glen, OLRG, Ltd.
Submitted by Jennifer Fuller, Director
Durward’s Glen is a non-profit Retreat and Educational Center located in the heart of the scenic Baraboo Bluffs. It is operated by a friend’s group that seeks to keep the Glen open to the public. Affordable lodging for groups or individuals is available in our historic Main Lodge, Artist’s Cottage and Cornerstone Hermitage.

In 2006 the parish at the Glen’s Immaculate Conception Chapel was closed and the Order of St. Camillus sold the property to Magdalen College in New Hampshire. In 2011, Our Lady of the Rosary Group Limited purchased the property from the college and formed a non-profit 501(c)(3) corporation. Durward’s Glen Retreat and Educational Center operates under the ownership of Durward’s Glen OLRG, Ltd., a local group in the Columbia-Sauk County Area of Wisconsin.

I enjoy the scenic beauty in all its grandeur that surrounds the quietness and peacefulness of the Retreat Center. Listening to the brook sing its melody by the Artist’s Cottage to the tune of the moment. I love hearing how people’s lives have been changed by encountering the Glen in all of its pristine majesty as it echoes its resounding tranquility.

As Durward’s Glen developed its profile within the community, more retreats and reunions are being booked two years out. Individuals find a respite here from the busyness and chaos of their daily work. The Glen continues to evolve and would enjoy serving the skiers during the winter months as the setting is perfect for those who love the wintry outdoors.

Our guests are anything but ‘typical’! They come from all walks of life, from the simpler life to the Nobel Prize winners to the actors to the Religious and many more! They find their way to the Glen because it is far more economical, peaceful and distinctive. Unlike chain hotels, every one of our rooms is unique and the experience people walk away with will never be forgotten.

When people think of Durward’s Glen, I hope they think of it as a treasure they were fortunate enough to find…one that having tasted it, will be desired again. For more information, call Durward's Glen, W11876 McLeisch Rd., at 608-356-8113.
