MetroWest’s Farmer's Markets and Summer Concerts continue all throughout August! Plus, mark your calendars for two exceptional events below you won't want to miss.

"Centuries of the Soldier" August 12-13: The American Heritage Museum presents this unique opportunity to experience live re-enactments and some of the world’s most rare aircraft, extraordinary American classic automobiles, historic tanks, armored vehicles, military artifacts and much more. Picnics welcome!

A Play, A Pint & A Pie Festival, August 26: Hopkinton Center for the Arts’ outdoor amphitheater presents the most entertaining one-act play festival of the year. Seven outstanding plays from around the world will have you laughing, crying, and thoroughly entertained. Ticket includes admission to the plays, a delicious meat pie or vegetarian alternative, and a drink of your choice.

North of Boston

Yankee Homecoming’s Waterfront Concert Series is taking place nightly from 7:30 to 9 pm, July 30–August 5. Bring a blanket, chairs, picnic dinner, patronize local vendors, and enjoy entertainment at Waterfront Park in Newburyport. Culture Splash Event Series takes place in Gloucester every Thursday night in August from 4 to 7 pm. Cultural organizations open their doors for immersive experiences, each of which are free and open to the public. Cape Ann Harbor Tours Water Shuttle will also be free so you can easily travel between Harbor Loop and Rocky Neck!

Don’t let the summer end without taking a trip to historic Plymouth County! Check out the FREE Project Arts Summer Concerts each Wednesday evening at Pilgrim Memorial State Park. The Berkshires

Central Massachusetts

Gather your people to experience a diverse feast of culture: Multiple concert series include a “Broadway Mix” from Greater Worcester Opera, Crocodile River music on the Common, and Odaiko New England on Hanover Theatre’s new plaza. Sports enthusiasts will love Punch-Out at Polar Park (8/4). Don’t miss the African Festival (8/5) and the Latin American Festival (8/19) on the Worcester Common. Franklin County

The 9th Annual Pocumtuck Homelands Festival will be held August 5th and 6th at Unity Park Riverfront on First Street in Turners Falls! The Nolumbeka Project presents this annual celebration of Native American art, music and cultures on the Unity Park Riverfront. Indigenous music, drums, dancing, crafts, children’s activities, history talks, storytelling, Eastern Woodlands skills demonstrations and more. The event will also be live-streamed on Facebook. Family-friendly, free and fun! Hours are Saturday 10 am to 7 pm, and Sunday 10 am to 5 pm.

Greater Boston

Dine Out Boston® returns for its summer edition, August 6th through August 19th. Dine Out Boston (formerly known as Restaurant Week Boston) gives locals and visitors an opportunity to sample an array of restaurants at special prices. This highly anticipated two-week program is the perfect way to take advantage of delicious deals at participating restaurants across the Greater Boston area!

Cape Cod

This summer, discover each of the family-friendly sand sculptures along the spectacular Yarmouth Sand Sculpture Trail, available for viewing until early October! Find a trail map here so you can spot all 30+ of the whimsical sculptures, which range from mermaids and ice cream cones to majestic whales. On Saturday, August 5th, the wildly popular Cape Cod Food Truck and Craft Beer Festival barrels into the Cape Cod Fairgrounds in East Falmouth. More than 30 food trucks from all over New England are on hand to serve up their best bites. There’s also a beer tent, live music, kids' activities, and a craft market to keep the festivities going!

Western Mass

One of the most elite nights on the basketball calendar each year, the Hall of Fame Class of 2023 will be formally enshrined into the Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame in a nationally televised ceremony. This world-class event is held at Symphony Hall in downtown Springfield – the birthplace of basketball and the heart of Western Mass. This year’s inductees include Tony Parker, Gregg Popovich, Dwayne Wade, Dirk Nowitzki and more!

Hampshire County

August is heating up in Hampshire County! On Friday the 11th, Jazzy Arts Night Out paves the way for the upcoming Northampton Jazz Festival, while Naomi Nye & Kimaya Diggs bring music to the Amherst Town Common. The Instagram-favorite outdoor sculpture gallery Art In the Orchard opens August 12th. Get moving on Sunday afternoons with free Salsa classes at Masonic Street Live’s outdoor stage. When it’s time to wind down, catch the Hampshire County sunset from the rooftop patio at Inn on Boltwood!

North Central Mass

August is the height of harvest season for local farms and gardens, and colorful piles of fresh fruits and veggies are in the spotlight at farmers’ markets this month. Yellow summer squash, bright red tomatoes, purple cabbages — and the ubiquitous green zucchinis! — provide a colorful backdrop for local musicians who bolster the festive atmosphere in parks and town commons nearly every day of the week.

Mohawk Trail Region

The 11th Annual Motorama event in North Adams welcomes all things motorized on Sunday, August 27th from 9 am to 3 pm! Join us as cars, trucks, motorcycles, tractors, snowmobiles, and more line the streets of downtown transforming it into a metal wonderland of bright colors, chrome, and machinery. This event includes raffles, door prizes, music, food & shopping. All proceeds benefit local charities. Cruise in concert on the 26th at Joe Wolfe Field complex (2 to 6pm).
