Chairman of the Witness Breakthrough
Board of Directors
Jerry Middel makes this appeal:

The Challenge:

It is estimated by Witness Breakthrough (WB) that only 1-5% of Americans who claim to be believers in Jesus Christ ever say the name of Jesus, the Name above all names, and miss opportune chances to share Christ in their everyday conversations where they ", move and have their being."

WB's Solution:

The ongoing goal of Witness Breakthrough(WB) is to train people to be compelled by love, not duty, to share their becoming "John  3:16 witnesses"... People who love others so much that they give them Jesus.

For the past 40+ years Ted Sprague has proclaimed the Gospel and trained believers (in person) in more than 200 cities in 44 states, speaking to groups ranging from 20 to 2,000 people in attendance. WB has also encouraged readers through weekly newsletter emails that portray actual witness encounters for the past 7 years, as well as through four books written by Ted...all dedicated to helping believers seize the daily opportunities we each have to be a part of the witness process in people's lives.

2017 Emphasis:
This coming new year WB will also be focused on training at universities and seminaries and other related opportunities. Our goal is to WB train Christian teachers and students so they can then train others how to share their faith where they walk daily in America. After all, how can students be properly equipped to reach their communities if their teachers have not personally experienced the joy of making Jesus Christ known where they ", move and have their being"?
[Acts 17:28]

Our Appeal:

WB's total focus is on America and your local community. Would you prayerfully consider helping us expand our efforts to multiply the Gospel by giving to Witness Breakthrough ministry?

We definitely need your help.

Please skim through the attached WITNESS BREAKTHROUGH BACKGROUND as you prayerfully consider a donation. For the past 14 years WB, a full time 501C3 non-profit ministry, has been supported solely by gifts from individuals, churches and family foundations.

God bless you,  Jerry Middel

OUR GOAL as defined by Ted:

Our goal should be the same as God himself:
To love people so much we give them Jesus. [John
During the past 40+ years as a Christian Evangelist I have learned:

We humble ourselves and give preference to other's thoughts
by asking meaningful questions, listening intently,
and falling in love with their souls.
We are then compelled by love
not duty, to share the Good News of Jesus Christ.
That's the goal of the actual witness examples and insights in every chapter of the book:

Ted's Testimony:
I grew up in a home that has been broken four times. I never knew my real father, and was a staunch atheist.  I graduated with a degree in Psychology. At age twenty three I read a Bible that a Chaplain gave me for over two weeks. For the first time in my life I knew I was a sinner and needed a Savior. I claimed Jesus Christ as my Lord and Savior.  My life was changed dramatically.

As a Christian I  became very involved in an organization called CBMC (Christian Business Men's Committee). I eventually served on both the National and International Boards of CBMC. My involvement in CBMC provided several role models who showed me how to live the Christian life as a tentmaker in the business world. (Tentmaker: one is dedicated to the ministry of the Gospel, yet is employed in another job to provide support). I
was a  tentmaker   for  30+ years.

For the past  14 years I have been in full time ministry with Witness Breakthrough. In total as a tentmaker and in full time ministry  I've been privileged to speak at outreach events, preach, and train throughout America in 44 states and 200+ cities .

A few unusual speaking venues I've spoken to:... inside NORAD for a leadership luncheon in Colorado Springs, CO,... inside the Mormon Temple for a Mayor's Prayer Breakfast in Independence, MO,... at Fort Stewart, GA (to all enlisted men and women and their officers),... at an international annual meeting of the Gideon's worldwide in Washington D.C.,... and to the Leadership Breakfast in St. Charles (adjacent St. Louis) on 9/11. Following my speech to 800 the 2 large monitors in the ballroom displayed live footage of the horror taking place in New York and elsewhere. My predetermined speech had been changed at 2 am the night before to   "In a Snap, Your Life Can Change". I gave my altered speech on this topic during the 9/11 tragedy unfolding!

  • You are witness every minute of every day, so why not be a good witness?
  • Be compelled by love, not duty, where you "live, move, and have your being."
  • Ask meaningful questions, listen intently, fall in love with their soul, and share Jesus.

For the past 7+ years WB has "reported back"
[Acts 4:13,23] actual witness experiences each week via newsletter emails in order to encourage fellow believers. The goal is to have believers become "John 3:16 witnesses" for Christ
compelled by love
to share Jesus where they "live, move, and have their being" [
Acts 17:28]. These weekly emails encourage readers to study and apply our latest book individually and in small groups

WB has been active in both churches
and Drug & Alcohol Christ-Centered Rehab Facilities. We have worked with over
100 churches representing different backgrounds, shapes and sizes.

Dr. Michael Youssef- Church of the Apostles, Atlanta, GA
"Ted lives what he preaches... An evangelist in the truest Biblical sense of the word... His passion for the lost is motivation enough to challenge Christians to discover the only call in life 'To know Him and make Him known."

Dr. Bert Blomquist, pastor, St. Paul United Methodist Church, Largo, FL
"...Our church couldn't get going with witnessing until Ted came into our lives...we then followed through with 2,000 homes surrounding our church"
Pastor Bryant Wright, Johnson Ferry Baptist Church, former President, Southern Baptist Convention - Marietta, Ga,"
... Ted's book provides great insight for the individual Christian to share their faith with friends and family..."
Heather, weekend WB training attendee, Bangor, ME
"WB training is not a canned approach to witnessing..."

Charlie Avila, Clovis Christian Center, Clovis, CA
"...the best presentation at a conference on personal evangelism that I've heard in 30 years of ministry. I am recommending the WB seminar to every pastor and ministry leader I know..."

Terry Sandidge, Toonigh Baptist Church, Lebanon, GA
"Our people love the wristbands... they've been reporting back weekly... it's the simplest and easiest way for believers to share their faith when God opens doors."

Roger Johnson, Regional Men's Conference Chairman, Anglican Church of North America
"Rave reviews for Ted's presentation style and content...his presentation was considered most relevant one by many at the conference."

-Weekly Sessions
-Weekend  Seminar
-Speaking/ Preaching on Sundays

  • Forest Hills Baptist Church (Nashville)...Sunday morning preaching (3 services), men's breakfast speaker, and missions conference speaker
  • Georgian Club (Atlanta)...private club outreach dinner in which Tudi and I both shared our testimonies
  • Leadership Breakfast (St. Louis area)...speaker for large community outreach

The wristbands are used as a tool to help believers proclaim Jesus as their personal Savior to others. They can then ask others "Have you made a similar decision?"

After 14 years of working and training believers in all Christian backgrounds...
I estimate that only 1-5% of believers actually speak the name of Jesus . The wristband is a remarkable tool that can help guide the believer's conversation.

To continue to speak, train, preach and send weekly Newsletter Emails to model for and help believers to become effective witnesses where they live.

The Church has a weakness in witnessing: making Christ known locally-where they "live, move, and have their being." That is exactly Witness Breakthrough's purpose- to help the church overcome this weakness.

This year, WB's additional goal is to teach at seminaries, universities, and college groups.  We purpose to train believers to be compelled by love , not duty to spread the Gospel of Jesus Christ where they live daily by becoming "John 3:16 witnesses" Possible venues include the classroom, chapel services, and speaking events . There has been initial contact at 3 institutions.

We need your assistance in two ways to make the important ongoing and new goals a reality:

1. Help us contact the right people in order to "get our foot in the door" at colleges, universities, and seminaries.

2. Financial support is greatly needed and multiply the Gospel of Jesus Christ in America and your local community
Please pray for and consider giving financially to the
Witness Breakthrough ministry.
We are a 501C3 ministry that is 100% funded by individual, church and family foundation supporters.
