Halla is a fifty-year-old independent woman. But behind the scenes of a quiet routine, she leads a double life as a passionate environmental activist. Known to others only by her alias “The Woman of the Mountain,” Halla secretly wages a one-woman-war on the local aluminum industry. As Halla’s actions grow bolder, from petty vandalism to outright industrial sabotage, she succeeds in pausing the negotiations between the Icelandic government and the corporation building a new aluminum smelter. But right as she begins planning her biggest and boldest operation yet, she receives an unexpected letter that changes everything. Her application to adopt a child has finally been accepted and there is a little girl waiting for her in Ukraine. As Halla prepares to abandon her role as saboteur and savior of the Highlands to fulfill her dream of becoming a mother, she decides to plot one final attack to deal the aluminum industry a crippling blow. After a successful year touring as The Devon Allman Project with special guest Duane Betts, the sons of Gregg Allman and Dickey Betts are joining forces to form The Allman Betts Band.  This year is one of milestones for the Southern rock families, marking not only the 50th anniversary of the Allman Brothers but the 30th anniversary of the younger Allman and Betts first playing together themselves. A new album, slated for release this Spring, was recorded at the legendary Muscle Shoals Sound Studios and produced by Matt Ross-Spang (Jason Isbell, Margo Price, John Prine and Elvis Presley). Former Allman Brothers Band keyboardist and current Rolling Stones keyboardist, Chuck Leveall, will guest on the record.

In addition to Devon Allman and Duane Betts, t he new ABB includes Berry Oakley Jr. (son of original Allman Brothers Band bassist Berry Oakley), Johnny Stachela (slide guitar) and Devon Allman Project percussionists R. Shortly before his passing at the age of 86, influential gardener and horticulturalist Frank Cabot recounts his personal quest for perfection at Les Quatre Vents, his 20 acres English style garden and summer estate. Nestled amongst the rolling hills of the Charlevoix County in Quebec, Les Quatre Vents has become one of the world’s foremost private gardens. Created over three generations, it is an enchanted place of beauty and surprise, a horticultural masterpiece of the 21st century. Through the words of Cabot and his family, and with the participation of gardening experts and writers, the lm looks back at this remarkable man’s personal story and the artistic philosophy that gave birth to one of the greatest gardens in the world. Princeton Environmental Film Festival: THE WORLD BEFORE YOUR FEET filmmaker screening
There are 8,000 miles of roads and paths in New York City and for the past six years Matt Green has been walking them all – every street, park, cemetery, beach, and bridge. It's a five-borough journey that stretches from the barbershops of the Bronx to the forests of Staten Island, from the Statue of Liberty to Times Square, with Matt amassing a surprisingly detailed knowledge of New York's history and people along the way.

Something of a modern-day Thoreau, Matt gave up his former engineering job, his apartment, and most of his possessions, sustaining his endeavor through couch-surfing, cat-sitting and a $15-per-day budget. He’s not sure exactly why he’s doing it, only knowing that there’s no other way he’d rather spend his days. Executive produced by Oscar® nominee Jesse Eisenberg, The World Before Your Feet is a tribute to an endlessly fascinating city and the freedom to be found, wherever you live, in simply taking a walk.

This screening is presented in partnership with the Princeton Environmental Film Festival , which is presented by the Princeton Public Library. This Really Happened... Storytelling at HT
Join us for our ongoing series This Really Happened... featuring some of the most hilarious and moving storytellers on stage. With a rotating cast of storytellers, the show is always fresh. Audience members can also claim a spot in the show and share a "two-minute tale" at the open-mic at the end of each show, for up to six audience members. Hosted by Joey Novick , each show will be one hour long with no intermission, followed by the open mic segment of “two-minute tales." The cast for the April 5 show is to be announced.

The C Word
with Dwayne Dunlevy
“The “C” is for comedy says Dwayne, “wink, wink” a twinkle in his eye. “Since it’s a show for adults, it’s nice to know you can’t go too far. Then, it’s all up to God anyway.”

It was in 2010 that Dwayne premiered the first ever The “C” Word to a standing room only audience at the famed Harlan’s cabaret. The sometimes bawdy, always personal show received high praise from audiences that consisted of both locals of the New Hope, PA area as well as New Yorkers and Philadelphians who cited the show’s quality and authenticity.

Writer and Producer Dwayne Dunlevy created the show as a way to bring live theatre in the form of Stand-up comedy back to the famed artist town. Dwayne’s own stand-up career began in Brooklyn, New York, circa 1995 where he won an award for his first ever stand-up routine in front of a live audience at Pratt University. From there it was steady experience by fire at comedy clubs in New York and Philadelphia for Dwayne who now, two decades later, performs at public and private events throughout the tri-state area.

Following sold out runs in NYC, LA, and the UK, Peter Michael Marino's critically acclaimed "Show Up, Kids!” makes its Hopewell premiere! When the main attraction doesn’t show up, Pete enlists the kids to help create a comedy show from set to sound, plot to props, and costumes to characters. What could possibly go wrong? This entirely unique, improvised family show for kids 3-10 years old puts a comedic twist on the traditional kids’ show.

Join us for a delicious and entertaining brunch with a performance by cellist Dan Kassel. Enjoy a sumptuous buffet with an array of delectable food items while listening to the uplifting tunes! Emotionally provocative and layered in symphonic warmth, Dan Kassel's solo cello music brings this classical instrument to new heights. Using an acoustic cello, Dan bridges the gaps between Klezmer and Irish folk, Indian classical and down-tempo electronic music, levity and suspense. His ability to use technology to loop and layer his instrument into expansive tapestries of sound is impressive, but the element that really stands out is the cello's deep and moving resonance. His work has been featured by WXPN, NJ.com and other independent blogs, and his piece, "Moonslice," won an Honorable Mention in 2014's International Songwriting Contest.

Her creative brand of comedy and family humor is captivating audiences by embodying multi- dimensional characters she creates. Born in Brooklyn and raised in Staten Island, Candice’s family always spoke at full volume. But they weren’t fighting, “that’s just how they communicated.” Within this 85 minute Theatrical Comedy, Candice slips in & out of her family impersonations as she cooks up a full meal of growing up Staten Island. The stories in “Italian Bred” are derived from Candice’s real childhood experiences. She recounts her upbringing by impersonating her family’s unique personalities, especially that of her outspoken, Grandma Frannie’s unfiltered words & wisdom. Friday, April 26 at 8 pm.

Interactive Mantra Meditation Concert with Sri Shyamji Bhatnagar
This concert offers us a rare opportunity to experience authentic, traditional mantra chanting by a world-renowned master of naada yoga, the yoga of sound, as a vehicle of spiritual attainment and as a healing art. Sri Shyamji will play the tambura and chant mantras especially designed to create soorya akaasha, a spacious state of deep peace and contentment. Bread and Puppet present Diagonal Life: Theory and Praxis
Diagonals are created from the leaning power of hurt verticals," says Peter Schumann, founder and director of Bread and Puppet Theater, which will present their new play, Diagonal Life: Theory and Praxis, at Hopewell Theater on May 9th. We inhabitants of Western modernity are no strangers to verticality, from the architecture of our cities, to the "ladder(s) of success" we're asked to scale, to the incessant wakefulness required of us, postponing the horizontal pleasures of sleep. Bread and Puppet's Diagonal Life presents the diagonal as a potent and promising opposition to the dominating verticality of our culture. Puppeteers long ago realized that the most aesthetically radical movements for puppets are diagonals, because these movements are cannot be sustained by human actors or dancers for more than a moment. (Gymnasts upsidedown themselves frequently and with ease, but diagonal positions remain inaccessible without the use of puppet.) Diagonal Life brings all the bewildering, beguiling, and downright funny possibilities and implications of diagonality to life with song, dance, magic, mechanism, and stunning cardboard and paper maché puppets painted in Peter Schumann's exuberant, slapdash expressionist style.

The Bread and Puppet Theater was founded in 1963 by Peter Schumann on New York City’s Lower East Side. Besides rod-puppet and hand puppet shows for children, the concerns of the first productions were rents, rats, police, and other problems of the neighborhood. In 1974 Bread and Puppet moved to a farm in Glover in the Northeast Kingdom of Vermont. Bread and Puppet is one of the oldest, nonprofit, self-supporting theatrical companies in the country.
