Speaking at a City Council or Planning & Zoning Meeting

The process for speaking at a City Council or Planning & Zoning Meeting has changed. Follow this guide:

  • Comments on posted agenda items will be received in person at Davis Library or via Zoom.

  • Comments of Public Interest (general comments on items not on the agenda) will be heard via Zoom at the end of each regular council meeting. No in-person Comments of Public Interest will be heard at the meeting.

You must register online to speak by 4 pm on the day of the meeting. If speaking on Zoom, you also need to register via the Zoom link provided in your confirmation email. NO onsite registration is available.

If participating via Zoom, access must be on a video capable device. All speakers must turn their camera on and be visible while providing comments. If streaming the meeting, other than via Zoom, mute the broadcast to prevent feedback.

Apply for Heritage Preservation Grant Funds

Calling all local, nonprofit organizations that support heritage preservation. The City of Plano Heritage Preservation Grant program is accepting applications now. If your group promotes heritage preservation in our community, you can apply. Since 2004, over $13 million has been allocated to organizations providing heritage programming, tourism, education, advocacy and restoration within Plano.

A total of $800,000 was awarded during the 2023-2024 fiscal year to the Plano Conservancy for Historic Preservation, Heritage Farmstead Museum, North Texas Masonic Historical Museum and Library and the Texas Pool Foundation. Hotel/motel tax revenue is the source of these grant funds, so projects must support the hospitality industry in Plano.

Learn more at the Heritage Preservation Grant Workshop on Wednesday, April 24, at 2 pm in Plano Municipal Center, 1520 K Ave. (Planning Training Room 2D, Suite 250).
