Deep Dive into Plano’s New Approach to Short-Term Rentals

Short-term rentals have been a subject of discussion for some time in Plano. In late April, Plano’s City Council passed new regulations. In this episode of the Inside Plano podcast, Director of Planning Christina Day shares details about the short-term rentals study and ordinance. Director of Neighborhood Services Curtis Howard lays out how the City will regulate these rentals moving forward.

The City of Plano and the Plano Independent School District (Plano ISD) have partnered to provide school supplies to families in need. Register your Plano ISD student for a ticket to receive a backpack full of school supplies.

Learn about more programs and services from City staff, school district representatives and community organizations onsite.

Cool Off at the TMC Luau

Don’t miss this annual summer tradition of swimming, food and fun at the Tom Muehlenbeck Recreation Center Luau. The fun begins at 5:30 pm and ends at 8:30 pm. The cost of $5 per person and includes a burger, chips, drink and frozen treat (served until 8 pm). Registration closes at 1 pm on July 11. Visit PlanoParks.org to register with activity #67861.

Buy books daily when the Library is open with the last bag sold 30 minutes before close. Proceeds go to Friends of the Plano Public Library to benefit our five locations!

Plano Fire-Rescue and Plano Police are facing off in a challenge to collect blood donations. During the summer, donations dip as people get busy with vacations. It’s also when travel-related accidents increase.  


When you donate, don't forget to cast a vote for Plano Fire-Rescue or Plano Police.

Fall Adult Sports Leagues


Get fit, make friends and have fun when you register for a fall adult sports league. Fall leagues start the week of Monday, Aug. 26. Choose from kickball, softball (play-offs, non-playoffs or 5v5v5), soccer or indoor basketball. Registration fees range from $44 per month to $525 per season. Sign up now to avoid higher late registration fees. Information about league bylaws, free agent lists and team roster forms is available on the league sign-up portal.
