Basic computer literacy is required, and the opportunity will occur on Tuesday and Wednesday from 10am-12pm. We're looking for a handful of folks to rotate through each week.

Brittani W.
This is Brittani W, and she is on a mission to make a difference! While she enjoys cooking, travel, and quality time with family, she wants to fight food insecurity in her area and help people in need get their necessities.
One of her favorite foods is pasta, and her favorite spot to travel is just anywhere she hasn’t been before. Brittani's dedication to sharing the joy of food extends to volunteering at the produce party, where her vibrant personality shines. She is a natural with people, she brings warmth to every interaction.
One of her favorite shows is "Modern Family," and one of her favorite songs is “I Wanna Dance with Somebody”. Brittani cherishes the moments her family joins her in volunteering at the food bank. And while she loves produce parties, she helps with our data entry for our mobile distributions and CalFresh. Brittani is a joy to be around, and we hope you get to know her!

Rene A.
Meet Rene, a passionate volunteer whose journey with Placer Food Bank began with the allure of the 'Produce Party.' Drawn to the idea of meeting new people and doing meaningful work with a passion for produce, as a cherry on top, the first produce party exceeding expectations.
The vibrant atmosphere of the very first party, filled with helpful people, work, and great music, set the tone for a series of fulfilling experiences. The 'weekly wrap-up' shift, always a delightful surprise, became a personal favorite because of the enjoyment of walking in and just helping with what needs to be done.
A heartfelt appreciation goes to Beverly and Linda, who patiently answered Rene's questions and showed her the ropes. Beyond the volunteer scene, Rene enjoys walks and bike rides with Shelby, a one-year-old terrier mix with a designated dog seat. Embracing retirement, Rene explores hiking, bird watching, and the art of relaxation.
We enjoy having Rene part of the PFB family and are super grateful of the example she is with the hard work and welcoming spirit she gives.

Erin B.
This is Erin. She loves the outdoors, hiking, skiing and walking her goldendoodle, Jackie Robinson Dodger Dog. Really anything to get her outside. She has a habit of starting gardening projects that get way bigger than anticipated. Digging dirt and spending money at the nursery is her therapy. Even though she roots for the wrong team, the Dodgers, she loves baseball and has fond memories of going to and listening to games with her family growing up in LA. Her super cool husband is Tom, and he volunteers when he can as well.
Erin is welcoming, caring and extremely interesting. If you get a chance to talk to her, do yourself a favor and introduce yourself (if she hasn’t already). Erin is a great example of what we want PFB to represent and we are very grateful to work with her.
“I am so happy that I found PFB. Think globally, act locally is a saying from way back when and it holds true for most endeavors. Helping neighbors with their food needs is a small act with a big impact. Everyone who volunteers and works at PFB are superhuman beings who really care and that means a lot. I don't have a favorite volunteer opportunity; they all have their advantages. Produce Party is great for meeting and talking to people, Sorting is perfect for getting some steps in your day, Weekly Wrap-up is fun because like a box of chocolates, you never know what you get, and Distributions are just goodness.”

Pioneer Community Energy
volunteers perfected their produce-packing skills at PFB on December 5th. Pioneer Community Energy is a local not-for-profit public agency with offices located in Rocklin and serves customers in unincorporated Placer County, Auburn, Colfax, Lincoln, Loomis, and Rocklin. Pioneer's staff members were interested in volunteering at Placer Food Bank as it serves the same community, and we’re grateful that they did!

Kiwanis Club of the Lincoln Foothills
“is committed to shaping the lives of the next generation through programs at all school levels, involvement in community service and development of leadership skills”. Kiwanis “is a global organization of volunteers dedicated to improving the world one child and one community at a time.” This group has been a steadfast supporter of Placer Food Bank’s work over the years and helped pack meal kit boxes on December 27th. We look forward to our continued partnership this year.
