Senior Center Newsletter

May 2024

Congratulations to our Easter Dinner giveaway winner, Janet Bachman. Janet won a gift card for dinner for 4 from Bob Evans, sponsored by our friends at Visiting Angels. Congrats, Janet and Thank You Visiting Angels!

We are very excited to announce that the Detroit Opera will be hosting a FREE Spring Serenade to our members on April 29th at 11am here at the Pittsfield Township Senior Center. More information can be found on page two of the newsletter.

Speaking of fun activities, in May we'll be hosting the Senior Spring Fling (5/17) and a National Hamburger Day Celebration (5/28)! Both of these free events feature a free lunch and social hour for our current members. Last year we had a waitlist for the Spring Fling. Register today to avoid missing out!

A few words about day trips...we are finally seeing a greater participation rate for our day trips. The Holland trip is currently waitlisted. We STRONGLY suggest, if you are interested in any of our day trips, do not postpone your purchase. These trips continue to be in partnership with the Saline Senior Center. We currently have 17 spots remaining for the Michigan Princess Riverboat & Horrocks Farm Market trip in July as well as the Dow Gardens trip in June.

Are you interest in trying Tai Chi? We have a couple free WCC Tai Chi classes starting in May on the verge of being cancelled due to low enrollment. These classes are held at the Pittsfield Senior Center. If you're interested in trying Tai Chi, sign up today!

A Matter of Balance also starting in May needs at least three more people to join. You can find more information about MOB further down in the newsletter.

Classes originally cancelled on May 6 & 7th are back on! Pittsfield Township will not be holding a special election in May so all classes will proceed as normal. We will have classes cancelled for our August and November elections.

You can click on 'My Activities' to see all your Upcoming Events.

Our calendar can be found at recreation.pittsfield-mi.gov then click CALENDAR.

Our complete Spring/Summer Catalog is online! Click here!

Membership is ANNUAL (Jan-Dec) and costs $5 for Pittsfield Residents and $10 for Non-Residents. Please note: Credit card purchases, both in-person and online, now have a convenience fee. We also accept cash and checks without additional fees.
