Focus: HOPE
Focus: HOPE now offering FREE monthly food distribution on the second Thursday of every month,11-11:30am, in the Senior Center parking lot. This program is for seniors 60+. For additional information, Focus: HOPE can be reached at 313-494-4600.

Interested in volunteering?
We have once again partnered with AmeriCorps Retired & Senior Volunteer Program - RSVP. Volunteers can get free liability insurance and mileage reimbursement to and from the center. Volunteers are required to submit their own hours to RSVP. Volunteering includes teaching classes, setting up for groups and programs. See Stacie for more details!

The purpose of the workshop is to introduce a number of mindfulness practices which includes cultivating self-awareness, reducing our reaction to stress and meditation techniques. The workshop will touch on the physical and psychological benefits on mindfulness.

This class is for people who are new to Tai Chi, people who have previous experience and need a refresher course, and people interested in an introduction to Yang Family Style. Students will do Tai Chi movement warm up exercises and work on "First Loop" or about the first twenty movements of the Yang Family Style 108 Long Form. Multiple skill levels are taught.

Rescue Tails w/ Humane Society of Huron Valley - FREE

So do animals, and at the Humane Society of Huron Valley, we’re fortunate to be part of the life story of many amazing critters who have been through our shelter doors. Join us for a 20-minute presentation featuring stories of animals who have been rescued, loved, and adopted by shelter staff members. After, participants will enjoy a craft activity (suitable for a variety of ability levels) to help the adoptable animals at HSHV who are still waiting for their forever homes. Based on availability, we may also visit with a certified therapy dog.

New Voting Rights presented by LWV - FREE

Join our discussion about New Voting Rights presented by the League of Women Voters of Washtenaw County.
60% of voters approved Prop 2 in November 2022. That proposal amended the state constitution to expand voting rights. This presentation describes both new rights and improvements to existing processes. Topics include certification of election results, early voting, improvements to absentee voting, voter ID, election audits, and public disclosure of charitable contributions.

LINE DANCERS! PLEASE READ!
Beginning in the Fall term, the Line Dancing Beginner and Improver classes will be taught by Bunny on Tuesdays and Susanna on Thursdays. Each instructor has their own play lists and dances. We have separated the classes to accommodate the growing interest by allowing for more participants to register. If you sign up for Line Dancing, please let the instructor know if you will be on an extended absence. Anyone not signing in for three consecutive classes will be removed from the roster to allow for wait listed participants to join the class. You are welcome to re-register again in the next term.

Pittsfield Senior Center is within the Parks & Recreation Dept of Pittsfield
Township and is primarily funded by Pittsfield Township taxpayer dollars.
The Senior Center offers:

Senior Center Annual Membership:
- $5/R (for residents) or
- $10/NR (for non-residents)
Payments for Pittsfield Township activities, classes or day trips can be made with cash, check or credit card.

PSI Travel Group Membership
Pittsfield Seniors Inc (PSI) Travel Group is a non-profit organization that was created to facilitate extended travel trips. They also host other events like Freebie Fridays, holiday party, casino trips and potlucks. Pittsfield Township provides the space for these activities to occur.
PSI Travel Group Membership is $5/year (regardless of residency).
This is a separate membership in
addition to the Pittsfield Senior Center Membership. If you plan to participate in PSI activities or extended trips, please sign up for this membership in addition to your Senior Center membership.
All payments to PSI must be made by check, payable to PSI.
