Local Missions Festival

Petra’s core value of Sharing Jesus and Serving Others is demonstrated not only globally but also locally right here in our community! This year’s Local Missions Festival is on Sunday, June 30. Over 15 LOCAL ministries whom Petra partners with will be represented all morning throughout the Lobby and Atrium. Plan now to check out their display tables and find out how YOU are empowered to partner with what God is doing beyond our four walls!

New Holland Fireworks

Plan to spend your evening here at Petra Church on Friday, July 5, for the New Holland Independence Day Fireworks! At 7:30 p.m., our fields will be open to the community to watch the New Holland Fireworks. Food and Drinks will be available for purchase from a variety of food trucks, including Castañeda’s, Nice Size Fries, Noel's Café, and Lickity Split Ice Cream. 10% of the proceeds from the Food Truck sales will go towards Petra's Food Bank to help feed those in our community who are in need. Bring your lawn chairs, blankets, and yard games for a fun evening together! The fireworks will start around 9:30 p.m.

24-Day Devotional

If you want to stay connected to God’s Word while you’re on the go this summer, you can sign up to receive 24 days of devotions!

Exodus, a devotional written by Pastor Brian Flewelling, is about the Israelites journey out of slavery and into the Holy. Our hope is that these devotionals inspire a deeper love for the Lord and for the Word that captures his wonders!

The 24-day devotional will begin Monday, July 8, and will be sent daily through July 31. You can sign up below to receive these daily devotions by email. A few printed copies will be available at the Resource Hub on June 30. This devotional ties in with our Fall theme, and we know it'll be a real encouragement to you this summer!

Growth Groups

Sexual Integrity 101 is an 8-week video course for ANYONE 18+ who wants to find freedom from the effects of unwanted sexual behaviors. It will help you understand addiction and betrayal trauma as you begin the journey of sexual health. This group, led by Marci Dodd and Ken Reinford, will meet on Tuesdays at 7 p.m. in rooms East 405 & 406 of the SLC beginning June 18. Cost is $20 for the workbook. Register below by Sunday!

"Sex and the Single Girl" by Dr. Juli Slattery is a 7-week book study for women 18+ that will give you an understanding of what it means to honor God with your sexuality. This group, led by Heather Carrasco, will meet on Mondays at 7 p.m. in room North 113 beginning June 17. Cost is $15 for the workbook. Register below by Sunday!

Women's Group

"It's Not Supposed to be This Way" is a video series by Lysa TerKeurst for women 18+ that will help you find biblical insight to get you through painful situations and give you life-giving perspectives for living between Eden and Eternity. This group, led by Kim Glick and Lois Good, will meet on Thursdays at 7 p.m. in the Belong Room beginning June 20. Cost is $14 for the workbook. Register below by Sunday!

Support Group

ELANCO Celebrate Recovery is a biblical and balanced program hosted by Petra. This group helps us overcome our hurts, habits, and hang-ups. It is based on the eight principles of the Beatitudes, which point us to recovery, wholeness, growth, and spiritual maturity. New attendees are welcome to join any Tuesday in the Oasis! At 6 p.m., there is food and fellowship, followed by the meeting at 7 p.m.

VBS Update

It’s VBS week here at Petra, and we can't believe it’s already Thursday! We have two more nights of this aqua-awesome fun as we continue diving deeper into friendship with God. (Just look at those smiles!)

Hundreds of kids have packed out our building each night as they give abundantly from their generous little hearts! As of Wednesday night, they've already raised over $4,500 to give to Treasures of God, an orphanage in Guatemala for abandoned children who have physical disabilities or special medical needs. Thank you, Petra families!!!

And, of course, this week wouldn't be possible without the help of our 250+ volunteers, who show up every night excited and eager to pour into each child. A HUGE thank you to all of you!

EDGE 56 Missions Day

Students in EDGE 56 are partnering with Woodcrest Retreat on Saturday, June 22, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a special hands-on mission experience! Drop off and pick up will be at Petra. Lunch will be provided. Register below!

EDGE Olympics

All Students in EDGE 56 and 78 don’t miss the Second Annual EDGE Olympics happening Monday, June 24! Teams will compete in a series of games and random challenges to win this year’s gold medals. Be sure to invite your friends because, if 120 students attend, EDGE Leaders will get pied in the face by one lucky team! We'll kick off the night with a pizza dinner followed by games. Register below!

June Men's Breakfast

All guys 13+ are invited to join us for one last breakfast before our summer break this Saturday at 7 a.m. Petra’s Encounter Pastor, Elmer (Dutch) Fisher, will be sharing about Kingdom Business and how you can live with a Kingdom mindset!

Dutch and Rosa have six children. In his free time, Dutch loves to bike, fish, hunt, and go on family vacations. Dutch is passionate about seeing chains broken off, hearts restored, and people set free, just as his life verse, Isaiah 61:1, proclaims. He loves to see young men and women finally experience the goodness of our Father!

Trip to Hershey Gardens

The Senior Adults are taking a trip to Hershey Gardens on Saturday, June 22, to experience 23 acres of botanical beauty! Don’t miss a colorful afternoon of seasonal flower displays and theme gardens. They will be carpooling from Petra at 11:30 a.m. The cost is $15 per person. Register at the Resource Hub by this Sunday or below by Monday!

Missionary Prayer Focus



Pray for Daniel & Jamie Jones and their 2 teenagers, who serve as Petra missionaries with Intervarsity Christian Fellowship in Toronto, Canada. Pray for God’s anointing and creativity as Daniel develops resources and training in worship and the arts to advance God’s Kingdom among university students. Pray also for health, provision, and direction as they serve!

Fundraiser Meal – Enjoy a traditional Amish Turkey Dinner fundraiser meal next Sunday at 12:30 p.m. in the Café! The proceeds will go towards the High School Student's Summer Mission Trip. Take-outs will be available after the 9 a.m. service.
