New Adoration Moment

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Malinda Gerke shares with you a new Adoration Moment, "Angels of the Passion: The Way of the Cross." The video includes images and meditations on the stations of the cross, and her writing is narrated by Rose Cooper, Michael Krueger, Vicki-Lopez Kaley and Barb Kruse, all affiliates with FSPA. Imagery of the angels reflect 16 stained glass windows that give light in St. Rose Convent's Mary of the Angels Chapel in La Crosse, Wisconsin, commissioned by FSPA and installed during chapel construction from 1902 to 1906. Illustrations of the stations are hand-carved plaques of beechwood, crafted by the Hackner Altar Company of La Crosse. FSPA in the News

"That's what this whole garden is about. How do we teach the next generations how to be sustainable and live in a resilient way?" says Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Lucy Slinger in the WXOW News 19 report, "Franciscan Sisters of Perpetual Adoration share lessons in land conversation." The story features the fruits of Jacoba's Greenhouse on FSPA Land on St. Joseph Ridge, including stewardship and education, as well as interviews with Sister Lucy, FSPA Integral Ecology Director Beth Piggush and FSPA Garden Coordinator Meredith Hink. "We're not just talking about how you nourish your body," shares Meredith, "but also how you nurture connections … with the community." Watch the story at wxow.com.

Messy Jesus Business

The chairs have flipped! Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Julia Walsh is the guest in this special episode of the Messy Jesus Business podcast, "For Love of the Broken Body." Reverand Adam Bucko interviews her about her spiritual memoir, available now, and she shares, "In alignment with my vow of poverty, I couldn't keep this story to myself." FSPA Moments in Time

As we celebrate 175 years of prayer, witness and service, we share "FSPA History Timeline" by Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Maryam Gossling. She created the images for FSPA's 150th jubilee. It hangs in the Gathering Room of St. Rose Convent in La Crosse, Wisconsin.

Franciscan Sister of Perpetual Adoration Georga Christensen bears the lard light during the St. Joseph Vigil on March 18 in Mary of the Angels Chapel at St. Rose Convent in La Crosse. The annual celebration is held in remembrance that "The light of this candle enkindles in us a deep dedication to the promises made on our behalf. We accept these promises anew. We will continue to make God's presence manifest in our lives and keep vigil for the community, the city and the world."
