Historical Tidbit:
West and East Bridgewater Town Marker, 1827

The West Bridgewater/East Bridgewater marker has historically been placed since 1827. However, there is more history behind this including the center of the land not being officially agreed upon until about the year 1659. Through the various purchases of land during the time, early settlers had the right to choose where the center would be, and this later became a marker in the form of a small white oak tree.

This original marker was said to be placed near the Bridgewater Meetinghouse. Once the tree eventually fell, it was replaced by the still standing Monument, which marks the first inland settlement from Plymouth. Located at 500 East Center St, it is easy to pass by and not realize all of the history and meaning behind the small monument.

WBFD Updates Town Fire Hydrant System

The WB Fire Department is fortunate to have been approved to use state grant money to purchase and attach reflective hydrant markers to our Town’s fire hydrant system. Over the next couple of weeks the Fire Department will be attaching these highly reflective markers to our fire hydrants. The increased visibility at night and marking system will help us identify our closest water supply quicker and give firefighters an understanding of how much water is available to them at the time of an emergency. Each hydrant is color coded to reflect the size of the main underground.

Permission to Daydream

The human brain is highest functioning when it has varied stimulus. Sometimes it's problem solving, sometimes task driven; and sometimes creative. We each have our own personal balance of physical movement and brain work, and let's not forget those emotional and spiritual needs that keep us connected and help us envision and imagine... getting the right cocktail to keeps us healthy, joyful, fulfilled and finding solutions.

When summer calls with its warm days, sunshine, flowers, birds chirping and breeze. I swear I can smell ocean spray mixed with the sweet florals on that breeze.

So... about 2 pm each day, I give myself permission to daydream, to take a break and take a walk; to smell the flowers and the breeze.

Be kind to yourself.

Life is not a sprint, it is a marathon. Doing things well takes continuous effort. But we are not machines, and need to give ourselves grace.
Permission to daydream... granted.
~ Jacquie
