A Letter from the Principal Team,

This newsletter is going out to our current AND incoming families, so if you are receiving this and think it's by mistake, it's to welcome you to our Peperzak Team!

We have information to share about our upcoming Curriculum night, and the rest of the newsletter may be of interest to you as well. We will plan to send out newsletters like this one when we have information that is pertinent to our 5th grade families as this Spring develops also, so stay tuned for those.

Current 6th and 7th grade students registered for classes this week for next school year. It's amazing how quickly this year is moving!

Wrestling is underway. Our students are tired and sore from working so hard but improving every day in their skills.

Some upcoming dates of mention are Wednesday, Feb. 21st for our academic awards and Thursday, Feb. 22nd for our PTG meeting. If your student earned a 3.8 GPA for the 2nd Quarter, their invitations should be arriving soon, if they haven't gotten them already in the mail.

Curriculum Night is on Monday, Feb. 26th for parents of incoming 6th grade students, as well as current 6th and 7th grade students. We will be meeting first in the gym, then heading to neighborhoods around the building. See you there from 6-7:30!

Remember, there is NO SCHOOL for students on Monday or Tuesday this week. We look forward to seeing students back on Wednesday, Feb. 21st.

THANK YOU, Spokane Voters! Here is a bit more information about the recent Bond and Levy:

  • By voting to approve the replacement levy, Spokane has once again endorsed our mission and promise – to create a school district where every student has a dream, access, and opportunity to have a happy and successful future.
  • Our school board will consider the input of our community and look at future opportunities to address the needs of SPS school facilities. Your voice matters, and we're committed to finding solutions together.
  • The district will be informing families about next steps in the coming weeks.

Attendance Note:

If your child is going to be absent, please let us know the accurate reason for the absence. It is OK if your student needs to stay home to rest or have a day with family...we can "parent request" that absence. If you report your student is "severely ill" for the day and then send them to school in the afternoon, it becomes difficult to admit them back into school due to health concerns and germ exposure.

Thank you and as always, let us know if you have any questions!

Attendance line is: 509-824-8500

While leaving our Peperzak parking lot, there may be Mullan Road students walking nearby or staff members coming or going. PLEASE drive slowly and cautiously and watch for pedestrians. Thank you for keeping ALL our kiddos safe!

PLEASE encourage your student to go to the office or health room if they need to make a call or are feeling sick. Students are only allowed to use their cell phones before school starts and during lunch. If they are calling or texting you in the middle of class, ask them if they've checked in with the nurse or the office. That way, we know to expect you if you are planning to pick up your student.

Thank you!

Thank you to everyone who made it to the DC/NY Trip Meeting. We had a great turnout and there is a lot of excitement about the trip.

We have a few spots left!

There's still time to sign up!

See the flyer below for more information.

We have some items that would be greatly appreciated for our CIP classroom! If you have any of these items you are getting rid of or ready to part with, please bring them to our office. THANK YOU!

  • Bean bag chairs
  • toddler/kid toys
  • sensory toys
  • picture books or board books
  • Stuffed animals/plushies
