READINGS FOR PENTECOST
PRACTICE OF FAITH
Come, Holy Spirit, come! Today we hear about the movement of the Holy Spirit in Jesus' community. In Acts, Luke paints a picture of an intense gathering. Jesus' followers are gathered in one place, likely still working to understand the death and resurrection of their dear friend and teacher. Despite their confusion, they understand what is told of God's mighty acts. As we imagine ourselves among them, we are called to be amazed and transformed by the movements of Holy Spirit in our everyday lives.
- What "works of the flesh" (Galatians 5:19) are keeping you from following the Spirit, from proclaiming the mighty acts of God?
- Read the responsorial psalm a few times. What stands out for you? Carry that with you throughout the day to call the Spirit to mind. At the end of your day, reflect on how recalling that word or phrase helped you "live in the Spirit" (Galatians 5:25).
We are doing our best to continue to provide a safe space to worship for everyone. Click here to see current COVID safety measures.
Live Stream Mass is during the Sunday 9:00am Mass.

THE ANNUAL CATHOLIC APPEAL DIRECTLY SUPPORTS PARISH STAFF AND OUR PASTOR
|
If you have not made your donation, please prayerfully consider your gift to the 2024 Annual Catholic Appeal. In addition to the ministries that support those in need, the Annual Catholic Appeal also directly supports the staff of SJV and Fr. Vu on a daily basis.
The Archdiocese of Seattle offers a range of centralized services, all to save on costs for parishes and to alleviate administrative burdens. These services include human resources, parish financial services, property and construction, liturgy guidance, and more! With your support, we can simplify workloads, improve communication, and elevate evangelization efforts across Western Washington.
Thank you to the many of you who have already made your gift. At this time, we have heard from 91 families, about 11% of our parish. If you have not yet made your gift, use the button below to give today.

Congratulations to our 17 youth who were confirmed by Bishop Eusebio last Wednesday. We are here for you with our support and prayers. May the faith that brought you to your Confirmation continue to grow!

When all of us work together, Mother Earth comes out on top! Thank you for wasting less. We've collected 9 bags of plastic film - 9 bags saved from the landfill to keep our oceans clean and build a brighter future.
Our free plastic film collection through Ridwell has ended. If you’d like SJV Preschool/Parish to earn free plastic film pick up during the 24/25 school year, we need at least 7 more families to sign up for Ridwell before May 31. If you sign up, Ridwell will pick up hard-to-recycle items like single-use plastics and everyday items your curbside recycling service can’t accept right from your home. Please check out http://get.ridwell.com/SJV-Preschool to sign up, and for more details.

Our new garden by the north gravel lot is growing! We have planted two raised beds with vegetable starts, and Bruce Nguyen has made two additional beds to receive more vegetable starts soon. HopeLink has gladly agreed to take our, along with the preschool beds’, harvest for their free food distributions for those in need.
We are in need of more volunteers to water and weed the raised beds on a rotating basis. If you have some time to spare, please reach out to Kathleen, scastle113@gmail.com. Many hands make LIGHT work.
