City Offices Closed for Memorial Day

City offices are closed Monday, May 29, 2023 in honor of Memorial Day.


This day serves as a tribute to those who made the ultimate sacrifice for our country. We encourage everyone to take a moment to remember and honor our fallen heroes.


All gave some. Some gave all.

Georgia DOT Announces Closure of Hwy. 54 for Pedestrian Bridge Installation in Fayetteville

Georgia Department of Transportation (Georgia DOT) contractors will set a new pedestrian bridge over State Route 54.


The project, scheduled to begin June 3rd, will require the closure of Hwy. 54 between Veterans Parkway and South Sandy Creek Road.


The closure will begin at 10 pm on Saturday, June 3 and will end at 5 am on Sunday, June 4.

Peachtree City proudly observes National Public Works Week, acknowledging the exemplary efforts of its dedicated Public Works Department.


This annual event highlights the vital role played by these professionals in maintaining the city's pristine condition. From road maintenance and stormwater management to parks upkeep, the Public Works Department ensures the city's infrastructure remains in optimal shape.


They address issues such as potholes, traffic signals, and drainage systems to ensure safe and efficient transportation. Additionally, they diligently maintain clean and well-manicured parks for the community's enjoyment.


Peachtree City encourages residents to express gratitude to these hardworking individuals, whose unwavering commitment contributes to the city's aesthetic appeal and high quality of life.


National Public Works Week serves as a reminder of the invaluable contributions made by the Public Works Department in preserving the city's infrastructure and natural beauty.

Pothole Relief and Pathway Progress: Public Works' Triumphs in the First Quarter

Did you know that public works filled 23 potholes and paved 800 feet of cart paths between January and March of this year?

Road Repaving Coming to Your Community

Weather permitting, road crews will be in the following subdivisions on the following dates for street re-paving:


May 18 - 19: Pavement milling, Wilshire Estates Subdivision

May 22 - 25: Full-Depth Reclamation (FDR), Wilshire Estates Subdivision 

May 26 - 30: Pavement milling, Colonnade Subdivision 

May 30 - June 1: Pave Wilshire Estates Subdivision 

June 2 - 7: FDR Colonnade Subdivision 

June 12 - 14: Pave Colonnade Subdivision 

Starting May 22nd, the multipurpose hockey rink at Kedron Fieldhouse will be temporarily closed for repairs.


We understand how much you love using this rink, and we apologize for any inconvenience caused during this period. Our dedicated team is working diligently to ensure the rink is back in top shape for future use!


We will keep you posted on the progress and eagerly await the reopening of the rink. Stay tuned for updates!

Applications Open for Leadership Fayette 2023-24: Empowering Leaders, Connecting Communities

Leadership Fayette is now accepting applications for its 2023-24 class.


Produced by the Fayette Chamber of Commerce, the program provides existing and emerging leaders with opportunities to enhance their civic knowledge of Fayette County, hone their leadership skills and network with leaders across the community.


As part of the ongoing commitment to provide quality education and programming, Leadership Fayette is once again partnering with the University of Georgia Fanning Institute for Leadership Development for expert facilitation for several class sessions. In addition to participating in classroom discussions and activities that connect students to a variety of topics, they will also have opportunities to make in-person community connections.

Applications will be reviewed, and candidates interviewed by an advisory committee comprised of Leadership Fayette alumni and program chairs. Members of the Leadership Fayette Class of 2024 class will be announced in mid-June.


Panasonic Automotive Systems of America will serve as the Presenting Sponsor for Leadership Fayette. They have provided participants a better understanding of how the Fayette community works and inspired citizens to utilize their talents to serve the community for more than 30 years. Other program sponsors include BMW of South Atlanta, Coweta-Fayette EMC, and Georgia Power.

Chamber affiliation is NOT required to participate in this program.

Peachtree City Library Launches Disc Golf Frisbee Rentals

It just got easier to play a round of disc golf in Peachtree City.


Present your PINES card at the library, borrow a frisbee and play 9-holes on our newly updated disc golf course.


The course, located in the scenic Village Green park adjacent to the Library/City Hall complex, recently underwent a transformation courtesy of renowned disc golfer Kevin McCoy.


It is important to note that disc checkouts are limited to same-day play only.

The Fayette Co. Historical Society and Juneteenth Planning Committee are excited to present the "Hope For a Brighter Tomorrow" youth poetry contest!


This contest is open to all high school students in Fayette County. Minors are required to obtain parental or legal guardian permission to participate.


The top three winners of the competition will be honored during the Juneteenth Celebration on June 19, 2023, scheduled to take place at 12:00 noon on the Fayetteville Courthouse lawn. Families are cordially invited to attend this event. Cash prizes will be awarded to the winners, with the first-place recipient receiving $100, the second-place recipient receiving $75, and the third-place recipient receiving $50.


Entrants are required to submit their poems electronically as a PDF file to lauriejstoker@gmail.com no later than 11:59 p.m. on June 1, 2023.

Join the National Trails Day Bike & Hike Event at Peachtree City's PAC Trails!

Join us for the National Trails Day Bike & Hike event on Saturday, June 3rd, 2023.


This event offers an opportunity to engage in mountain biking, hiking, or trail running along the 2.7 miles of natural surface trails while also assisting in trail service projects. The event will commence at 8:00 a.m. and continue until 12:00 p.m.


Attendees are advised to wear appropriate clothing and footwear, bring their mountain bikes along with helmets, and be prepared for sun exposure and insects. Drinking water and trail tools will be provided.
