City Manager Engages with Local Parent-Teacher Organizations in Ongoing Meetings

City Manager Bob Curnow met with the Oak Grove Elementary School PTO, including Teacher of the Year Lauren Toering. 


Bob continues to hear from families. He’s learning more about what they want from their city government and how Peachtree City should move forward for the future.

Congressional Committee to Hold Hearing on the Economy in Peachtree City, April 21st

The United States House of Representatives Ways and Means Committee will hold a field hearing on April 21, 2023, at NAECO Materials Technology Solutions in Peachtree City, Georgia. The hearing will focus on the state of the economy for American workers, farmers, and families.


The hearing will take place at 9:00 AM.  


"We are thrilled to welcome the Ways and Means Committee to Peachtree City and showcase the entrepreneurial spirit of our community," said City Manager Robert Curnow. "We look forward to highlighting our city's commitment to small businesses and discussing ways to strengthen our economy."


The Ways and Means Committee is responsible for determining taxation policies and revenue-raising measures, as well as oversight of other federal agencies such as the Internal Revenue Service. The field hearing in Peachtree City will allow the Committee to hear directly from local business owners and leaders about the current state of the economy and ways to improve it.


Members of the public may view the hearing via live webcast available at https://waysandmeans.house.gov. The webcast will not be available until the hearing starts.


Oral testimony at this hearing will be from invited witnesses only. However, any person(s) and/or organization(s) wishing to submit written comments for the hearing record can do so here: WMSubmission@mail.house.gov

Early Voting Starts Monday for May 16th Special Election

The Fayette County Election Office has released the sample ballot for the May 16 special election to fill the unexpired term of state Rep. Tish Naghise.


Early voting begins Monday, April 24 and ends Friday, May 12.

According to Niche.com, Peachtree City is the best place to live in Fayette County and fourth best place to raise a family in Georgia. We also have the third best schools in the state. This is a huge accomplishment and a testament to the hard work and dedication of our community.

McIntosh Soccer Continues Their March to the State Championship

The McIntosh High School boys and girls soccer teams won their opening match in the AAAAA state tournament and advanced to the sweet 16.


They play at home Tuesday, starting at 5:30PM.

Work to improve the Pebblepocket Park tennis courts started this week.


It will continue for approximately 3-5 days. The courts will remain closed during this period.


We look forward to welcoming tennis enthusiasts back to Pebblepocket Park soon. Stay tuned for updates on its grand reopening.

Peachtree City Police Hosts DEA National Rx Takeback Day for Safe Medication Disposal

Do you have any medication that you would like removed from your home?


If you do, come to the Peachtree City Police Department this Saturday for DEA National Rx Takeback Day!


Drop off all unwanted medication! PLEASE, no needles, we cannot properly dispose of those.


The police department will also be distributing free medication lock boxes and giving away deterra packs for at home disposal of medication!
