A Note from Scott and Marsha
July 18, 2019
Hello, my peeps! Sweating here at FGS BUT I’m not going to complain. Why? Because I’m grateful for ALL the seasons and ALL the flowers that bloom with each one.  As well as the clean pores and natural weight loss we are experiencing.

Remember the peach truck in June? Amanda filled you in with a great story. I’ll fill you in on our take. It was hysterical and terrifying to watch. We have cameras at work and apps on our phones that allow us to watch. Super helpful to see if it is raining on the kids. Helpful to see if a deer shows up. Helpful to see if we need to jump in the car and help out on a crazy weekend. Helpful to see if our crazy staff simply needs to go home because we all know--it’s gonna still be there the next day.

We watched car after car after car pull in for peaches. Scott was literally giggling on the beach. And panicking. And counting. Giggling. Panicking. Counting. REPEAT. To the point I finally said, Put your phone down!

To which he says, But I can’t stop myself!!!

This was his crazy idea. We were so proud of our staff who jumped in and helped with every crazy part of it. We work with the best people ever. I always say at the end of the year I wouldn’t want to be doing this with anyone else. Truly. And our customer base? You guys?! We sold the most peaches of any garden center in NC! You made it fabulous, and we do it again TOMORROW, July 19 from 5:00-6:30PM!!! These hours are for our working base who couldn't make it midday last time, so run by after work, have a drink in the garden, and get your peaches on!  Our box of peaches was AMAZING. The flavor? YUMMM.... So even though we won't be there this time either, don't worry. We'll be watching! Come tomorrow and bring peach and green home with you!

JUDY'S HOUSEPLANT OF THE WEEK
Judy choice this week is Schefflera Arboricola, commonly known as an Umbrella Plant. This popular houseplant needs bright light. It will love being outdoors during the summer, but make sure it is not in direct light. Keep the soil moist (not wet) and conditions as humid as possible. You can mist a Schefflera Arboricola to help keep it happy.
CLETHRA
RUBY SPICE
Blooming now! You will love the pink blooms on this native shrub. The blooms are beautiful, fragrant and attract pollinators! Clethra Ruby Spice can tolerate full sun, but can also be planted in part shade. If you have a wet spot in your garden, this shrub is a great choice! It tolerates wet soil that most other shrubs can't handle.
GLAZED POTTERY
Are your pots or containers looking tired? Not holding up to the intense summer heat? You should check out our beautiful selection of glazed pottery. We have many colors and sizes to choose from. Glazed pottery is an excellent investment. Whether you use them indoors or out, they will look gorgeous for years to come!
