America's Oldest, Continuous Open-Air Market, est. 1752

Saturdays, 9:00 am - 1:00 pm
On the Riverfront at Scott Park
128 Larry Holmes Drive, Easton, PA

Free Parking - Rain or Shine - EBT Accepted

Mid July is such a beautiful and exciting time at the market. The fruit scene really gets folks jazzed up. Just-picked cherries, sweet blueberries, plump peaches, sugar plums, black and red raspberries, currants and cantaloupe all create a rainbow of delicious color. And if you're feeling penned up - now's the perfect time to bake a homemade fruit pie! Tomatoes are starting to come on strong in all shapes and sizes, along with zukes and cukes, eggplant, green beans, and peppers. And sweet corn isn't far behind. Savor the season and take joy in the the gifts of Mother Nature. A lot of the normal pleasures of summer are missing this year, but thankfully the sun is still shining, the rain is still falling, and our farmers are still growing wonderful food and gorgeous flowers for all of us to enjoy. See you on the riverfront...

Grilled Brats with Kraut & Mash
from Jessica Mitchell
We love to see what our shoppers are creating with their market-fresh finds. And we can always count on EFM regular Jessica Mitchell to post some mouthwatering dishes on her facebook page.

Jess gave rave reviews to Breakaway Farm's brand new Chipotle Cheddar Bratwurst (just the right amount of heat) . She grilled it to perfection and placed it atop sauerkraut (Jersey Pickles) and her famous sour cream mashed potatoes made with Scholl Orchards potatoes,

Other offerings this week include cucumbers, eggplant, green beans, cooking greens, spring mix and flower power mix, basil, turnips, beets, kohlrabi, onions, garlic and more.

GARLIC ZUCCHINI BITES

1 cup zucchini grated and drained well
1 egg
1/3 cup breadcrumbs
1/4 cup Parmesan cheese grated fine
1 clove garlic grated fine
2 tablespoons fresh chives chopped
1 tablespoon fresh parsley chopped
1 teaspoon fresh basil chopped
1 teaspoon fresh oregano chopped
pinch of salt and pepper
tomato sauce for dipping

Preheat oven to 400˚F. Lightly coat a baking sheet with olive oil or non-stick spray. Set aside.
Use a box grater to grate the zucchini into a clean towel. Roll up the towel and twist to wring out the moisture. Grate the garlic using the small holes on the box grater.
In a medium bowl, combine all of the ingredients and mix well.
Shape a tablespoon of the mixture into your hands, pat into small balls, and place on the baking sheet.
Bake for 15-18 minutes in the preheated oven until golden. Serve warm with marinara sauce. Recipe makes about 16 bites.

Primordia Mushroom Farm - Mushroom Musings with Jesse
It's a bumper crop of Lion‘s Mane this week! So very much is coming in and so very much is coming to market! The sale is on - Normal price: $16/lb., this weekend it’s
$12/lb.!

The Lion's Mane mushroom is a fabulous substitute for shredded crab meat in nearly any recipe that calls for it. I like to make vegetarian "crab cakes", but the larger pieces can be sliced into rounds and pan seared
and given an application of an herbed aoli, I have even seen it dipped in tempura batter and deep fried. Whatever you choose to do- this is the weekend to try this fabulous fungus if you haven't yet dared!

As per usual: Orders are not required, but are welcome. Please get your orders to us by midnight on Thursday night. Place orders at PrimordiaFarm.com

Teels Hill Soapworks
"Delicious' Soaps!
Susan is highlighting her foodie soaps this week. Her Espresso soap is made with crushed espresso beans which she superfats with coffee butter. This soap is a great exfoliating soap, gritty but not harsh. Pair it with her Coffee Bean Sugar Scrub (raw sugar, ground coffee beans and coffee butter). If coffee is not for you perhaps Teels Hill's Cocoa Fudge soap is. This soap is made with cocoa powder and cocoa butter and scented with nutmeg. And yes there is a sugar scrub for this bar too. The Chocolate Macadamia Sugar Scrub is decadent!
