Ballet Vero Beach’s 11th Season goes out with a bang with the third annual Ballet Under The Stars.

Ballet Under The Stars, a casually elegant cocktail party to benefit the education and community engagement programs of Ballet Vero Beach, will take place April 26, 2024 at 6:00pm at Tree House Vero Beach.

Guests will enjoy sumptuous international bites and a light seafood-themed buffet by Adrienne Drew. An open bar, provided by Sailfish Brewery and 21st Amendment Distillery, will feature wine, craft beer, and signature cocktails. The Ballet Vero Beach dancers will debut an exclusive performance, a deluxe live auction will be offered, and attendees will dance the night away with our artists to the fabulous sounds of the Dave Capp Project! Reservations are required, and the RSVP date is April 15.

This one of a kind fundraiser benefits the unique and much lauded programs Ballet Vero Beach uses to improve the lives of all citizens in our community. These programs include the company’s Ticket Donation Program, Stage to Page Student Matinee Series, and the Fellowship Initiative for Dancers.

Tickets to Ballet Under The Stars are $175 per person or $1500 for a table of 8. Tickets can be purchased at balletverobeach.org.

The Vero Beach Art Club presents the Deborah Gooch fundraising gala event! Deborah was an influential artist and art instructor who shared her talents in Vero Beach for over 30 years.

Join us Wednesday, April 17, 2024, 5:30 PM - 9:30 PM. for a celebration of Deborah Gooch and her legacy in Vero Beach’s art community at the Heritage Center 2140 14th Ave. Vero Beach.

The evening will feature an exciting auction of Deb Gooch’s collection of art led by George Blythe, local artist, and auctioneer.

Filmmaker, writer, and artist Xaque Gruber will serve as MC of events promising to provide a thrilling and fun-filled evening. Join us for refreshments, a buffet-style dinner, and an exciting auction as we reflect on the life of Deb Gooch and her storytelling works of art!

Deb’s husband, Jim Gooch, generously donated the collection of artwork. Proceeds from the sales of the paintings will go to benefit the Vero Beach Art Club Scholarship program. The Scholarship money will aid the education of students in Vero Beach who excel and wish to pursue the arts. Silent auction items will also be featured with proceeds supporting the Vero Beach Art Club.

Tickets price: $100 per person. Sponsor a table for 10 of your guests: $1000.

Thank you for supporting our inaugural Gala fundraising event. Help launch our talented youth as they pursue their love of the arts.

Start your literary engines: NEA Big Read Miami

Through April 30

The National Endowment for the Arts’ Big Read broadens our understanding of our world, our communities, and ourselves through the joy of sharing a great book – and Miami Book Fair is again marking this unique literary happening with two months of events for readers young and old, centered around our title pick for 2024, MADELINE MILLER’s bestselling and critically acclaimed novel CIRCE.

In the house of Helios, god of the sun and mightiest of the Titans, a daughter is born. But Circe is a strange child – not powerful, like her father, nor viciously alluring like her mother. Turning to the world of mortals for companionship, she discovers that she does possess power – the power of witchcraft, which can transform rivals into monsters and menace the gods themselves.

With vivid characters, mesmerizing language, and page-turning suspense, Circe is a triumph of storytelling. It’s an intoxicating tale of family rivalry, palace intrigue, and love and loss – and an empowering celebration of female strength in a man’s world.

The Symphonia to Unveil its 20th Season at

‘Cocktails & Classics’ Reception April 16

The Symphonia, South Florida’s premier chamber orchestra, will reveal the much-anticipated lineup of its 20th concert season at a special reception, ‘Cocktails & Classics,’ on Tuesday, April 16, 2024 at St. Gregory’s Episcopal in Boca Raton. The event will serve as the orchestra’s first public announcement of the live performances taking place during its 20th season, kicking off in November.

“I’m so proud of how far we’ve come in the last two decades,” said Annabel Russell, executive director. “We’re like ‘the little symphony that could’ and we just keep climbing to new heights year after year. Our 20thanniversary season promises to be our best ever, and we can’t wait to share the news with our patrons and guests at the event.”

Guests will enjoy gourmet bites, zesty spirits, a live musical performance by Symphonia musicians, as well as a “special” surprise. Attendees will also have a chance to mingle with the organization’s leadership to learn more about its impact in the community, fundraising opportunities, and exclusive patron perks.

The chairperson of Cocktails & Classics is board member and longtime Symphonia supporter, Sung Knowles.

Tickets are $100 for individuals, $175 for pairs, and can be purchased at
