Despite the recent challenges posed by Hurricane Debby, we are pleased to announce that Payne Park Tennis Center has weathered the storm without damage and is now open for our normal business hours.

We extend our heartfelt support to our community as we all recover and look forward to welcoming you back to the courts and continuing to serve our vibrant tennis community!

We’re ramping up our Tennis programming for the Fall with something for everyone who wants to play some tennis: competitive ladders, Super Saturdays for Kids, Doubles Game Night, and more.

Super Saturdays

Kids Learn to Play Tennis

Tennis is awesome! Juniors will learn tennis "fun"damentals in a safe, positive, and encouraging on-court experience. We will have three 4-week session programs for any kid looking to learn and play some tennis.

Session I - September 7, 14, 21, 28
Session II - October 5, 12, 19, 26
Session III - November 2, 9, 16, 23

Ages 5 and 6 will be from 10:45 am to 11:30 am. Ages 7 through 12 from 11:45 am to 12:30 pm. The cost is $20 for the 4-week session or $5 for a single program. Pre-registration is required. Call the front desk at 941-263-6641 to register.

Champions and Challengers

Tennis Doubles Games

Wednesdays 5:00-6:30 pm

Get ready for an exciting opportunity to elevate your doubles tennis game! Starting on Wednesday, September 4th, we will be hosting a series of high-tempo doubles tennis points, featuring engaging games such as King/Queen of the Court, Knock Out, Beat the Champ, Live ball, and more.

This program is designed for 3.5-rated players and above. The cost to participate is a $5 program fee plus applicable court fees. Pre-registration is required, so be sure to sign up through the front desk at 941-263-6641 to secure your spot.

Both programs will be led by Jerry Krawchuk, Recreation Leader at Payne Park Tennis Center. For more information on Super Saturdays and Champions and Challengers, please contact Jerry at jerry.krawchuk@sarasotafl.gov.

Men’s Singles Ladders

Starting September 1, the Men’s Singles Ladders are back. Please know that ladder leagues work best when you commit to playing a weekly match for the entire season. If you are interested in playing or want more information, contact Bjorn at Bjorn.Turnquist@sarasotafl.gov

Note: Ladders use "iTennisLadder" to manage the ladder and matches. To sign up for the ladders, please click on one of the links below. You will be approved by the ladder admin, receive the welcome email, and then pay the ladder fee at the Front Desk.

Division 1 – For 4.0-5.0 Players - Click here
Division 2 – For 3.0-4.0 players - Click here

For the Fall season, the men’s ladder will be a points-based ladder where every game counts! The cost is a $20 entry fee paid at PPTC, plus court fees for each match. Each player must bring a NEW can of Clay Court-approved tennis balls for each match. Full rules, including scoring, are posted on iTennisLadder.com. NOTE: Women’s ladders are returning and will start in October. Sign-up and information will be available in September.

Serve and Sip Series

Friday, August 9

5:00 - 6:30 pm - Tennis, 6:30 - 7:30 pm - Social in Court 13

(No Rain, please!) Tomorrow night! Join us for Triples from 5:00 to 6:30 pm, followed by a Social hour in Court 13. The cost is $5 plus applicable court fees. Call or stop by the front desk to register.
